Rocket League Gameplay with Commentary: 2v2 Road to Champion

Hello, gamers. I hope you are doing well.

I had been thinking of doing some live stream playing Rocket League so I did a test run a couple of days ago. It went mostly smoothly with some frame drops here and there. However, I had to do it in 30 fps so my potato PC could handle it.

I started at Dimaond I Div III and set a goal of improving two divisions which is quite challenging sometimes. You can even lose the divisions if you play badly so that was a tough ask.

But I was well warmed up before this session and I didn't do bad at all. I finished gaining a couple of Divisions and finished at Diamond II Div I. It could have been even better but I lost a couple of close games.

Here is the complete video replay of this session with my commentary. I don't do many with commentary and trying livestreaming so any feedback is much appreciated.

It was a perfect start as I won 5-0 in the first game. It set the tone perfectly for the rest of the session. Even though I was a bit distracted and watching my own stream with one eye, I didn't play badly. The matchmaking was quick and I talked a lot about my thoughts on the game in the video. I also showed some good rocket pass items which I will show you later.

There were moments of both brilliance and blunders. Watch the above GIF, I outplayed both of the defenders in this play and scored a clean goal.

Well, the defender couldn't do much in this play but there were other moments in the stream. Some of them were hilarious mistakes. Look at this next one!

The ball was going towards the blue net right after the kickoff. But it wasn't hard to stop it. But what happened next? All the other three cars including one of my teammates missed the ball completely...lol. A collective blunder... this doesn't happen too often in the high Diamond league but I guess it was our lucky day.

But there were some good passing plays as well. I love to see my teammates passing me and I pass them to score some nice goals. These goals feel the best. It requires some coordination and confidence in your teammate's ability.

For e.g. Look at this one:

The play started with me passing from the corner for my teammate who was ready to receive the shot. He was expecting the pass and jumped at the right time but couldn't score, a defender was trying to cut off that pass. But the ball bounced high in front of the net and it was my chance to have a go at it. I managed to score this one.

These types of goals are the most enjoyable... when you pressure your opponent and that eventually leads to a goal. It feels great.

Another funny thing that happened during this session was the "Rule 1". When two cars drive into each other and get stuck. It is called rule 1. Breaking it or driving backwards will curse you for the rest of your Rocket League journey. So, you better respect that even if you are losing by a goal in 1v1.

Champion League is still far and somehow I am forever stuck in Diamond. It feels like so many people are in diamonds, I see people with Champ titles playing in the diamond too. It is so crazy and makes the diamond quite a tough place filled with players with a wide range of skills. I can just hope to get out of this hole before the end of the season.

Rocket Pass Updates!

I am on tier 84 now and recently got the goal explosion that you can see me using during this session. It is very cool and fills the entire arena with water and fish.

I talked about the new the new wheels. The Tri Cast Holographics look cool, especially the one which comes in Titanium White.

Okay time to show my overall stats, I was so close to the 8k mark last time and look! I have crossed it and played a total of 8087 career games! I got a healthy win percentage, almost 53% and over 14.2K career goals, averaging 1.8 goals per game is not bad at all, considering I don't play duels (1v1) where you score many more goals per game easily.

• You played well, but your teammate sucks!
• You didn't lose, the server was laggy!
• Only if you had a better monitor and graphics card!
• Your little brother was playing the match!
• They were Smurfing!
• You didn't sleep for two days straight!
• And the most important one: They were Hacking!
• Your mom called you in the middle of the game!
• Your girlfriend was texting you during the game!
• You were getting death threats from your lender!
• Gaming Gods were angry at you!
• You were too distracted in managing your live stream!
