Facing another deadly Wolf attack | theHunter: Call of the Wild

I have been hunting in the harsh and cold environment of Siberia where there are some big and aggressive predators like Brown Bear and Grey Wolves.

I was given a task to find one of the team members, Gunther who went missing a week ago after a blizzard. We found out that he left a note saying his ATV crashed and he lost his communication device and got stuck in a bad storm. He is having trouble finding food and getting help.

I went out in search of him but I was stopped by some growling noise and I instantly knew I was getting attacked by wolves again!!

You cannot outrun them so my only plan was to stand my ground and take them on. When the first one came out of the shrubs, he wasn't looking very pleased with me and was ready to attack.

But they never came alone, their whole pack was here and they surrounded me very quickly. I opened fire and must have hit two of them but that was not enough, they must be 5-6 in this pack and all the others attacked me and killed me right there.

What an ironic death, I was out in the open to hunt some animals and got hunted!

Anyway, I respawned back at the outpost not too far from where I died. I knew at least one of the wolves was dead so I went back to harvest it and hopefully if they were still there could get my revenge.

But they were gone from that area, instead, some reindeer were roaming freely indicating that the wolf pack had gone.

I harvested a big male weighing almost 60 kg, I had hit him in the spine which is not considered a vital organ and the game didn't give me full rewards for that but a shot in the vertebrae often leads to a quick death. He was growling at me when I hit him and you can see it from the picture.

I found some more blood on the ground and no it wasn't mine. So, I instructed Sheru, my dog, to find out where it goes. He tracked the scent and led me to another dead wolf.

This was an even bigger one and would have been given a gold trophy had I hit the vital organ. It took some time to die as I had not hit any of the organs. At least those wolves now know they picked the wrong guy to mess with. I am coming for all of them!

I tried to follow the footprints of those wolves for some time before getting distracted by some other noise and giving up the chase. Once they are gone, they are gone. It is hard to go after them and catch them off-guard.

This is a beautiful map and those wolves make it very exciting, you need to be on your guard at all times, you never know when will they attack. It almost feels like we are the prey in this part of the world.

There are still enough herbivor I can take out easily and one of them is the Moose. They are everywhere on this map and I killed a small female with my bow.

The search for Gunther is still ongoing but from the experience I got from this map so far I will be surprised if he is still breathing. The harsh climate will get you if not the deadly predators or hunger.

I came across a Eurasian Lynx, it was a male weighing just over 31 kg and they perfectly blend in the environment making it tougher to spot. I was carrying my shotgun which I used to kill it. Turned out I used a large calibre weapon on these so I didn't get the full rewards and missed out on the gold trophy yet again!

While I shot the first one I heard some noise and saw another one running away from me, I quickly took the shot on that one as well. This was a small female weighing half of what the male weighed. And I got her right in the Vertebrae which led to a quick kill. This time I did not get any trophies.

I decided to call it a day after successfully hunting these predator species. It was an exciting day that started with another deadly encounter with the wolves but this time I was able to kill two of them before they took me down. In the end, I got two Eurasian Lynx which gave me a good amount of cash and XP.
