Exploring and Setting Up Base on an Ice-Cold Planet in No Man's Sky
Hello and welcome back to my blog!
I played a lot of No Man's Sky in the last two days. I visited three different planets from two different star systems, mined a lot of minerals, created and installed a lot of new and cool tech in both my suit and spaceship and so many more things. The game has a lot to offer. I am still trying to do the main campaign and my task was to go to my second system and investigate more about an alien signal calling me.
But you can't just fly your spaceship to another star, you need to install a hyperdrive module which lets us warp and effectively takes us more than the speed of light.
I already mined minerals and refined them to make Chromatic metal but had to buy the microprocessors from the Space Station. We installed the technology but it still needed fuel. Fuel wasn't difficult either, it was just Chromatic Metal and Condensed Carbon and I had enough of both to make the Antimatter.
But it would be best if you stored it in a special cell and by sheer luck I had it with me too. Those random cargo hunts I had done are paying me off now. The only thing that stops me from not doing more of those is the stupid "inventory full" thing...lol
I can always take more inventory slots and want to mine everything that I can...lol
Anyways, after the Hyperdrive was installed and fuelled up, it was time to choose a system to warp to. I chose one of the closest ones. It was around 44 Light Years away.
An undiscovered planet nobody has ever been to. It was a ringed planet and looked beautiful even from space. I landed close to the signal coordinates and found a big monolithic structure.
I am not sure who is trying to contact us and why and weirdly they asked many confusing questions.
It is an icy planet, the temperature even in the daytime is -50 degrees Celsius and it gets worse at night. The constant, chilly winds are a huge culprit in doing that. It is covered with snow!
Yet, so many creatures are roaming on the surface. Life finds its way. It also has a good amount of floral diversity, but not as much density as some of the other planets.
I tried to scan everything I could, giving me cash, more information, and minerals from each substance.
There were 6 animal species on this planet and I scanned all of them eventually. Only one of them was aggressive and tried to kill me. It was some tentacles that came out of the surface. Other than that everyone was friendly.
The best species award goes to this Bigfoot-like creature roaming in this icy world. They are friendly and run away if you attack them. Their walking and running style is hilarious and cartoonish. Love it!
Oh, and did I say that you can also rename a planet (only once), I did rename this one to "Bemierd" after you know who. After all, this was a gift from her only.
Even though on the surface it is mostly barren and quite rough, especially when you don't have an updated cold protection module yet, the caves are not too bad. Cave temperatures are better and some unique mineral deposits can be mined here.
There are scattered cache boxes with random loots inside the caves. I thought I would find even more animal species inside the caves but no. Another interesting thing about this planet is the low number of sentinel. They rarely appear here contrast to my first spawn planet where they would not leave me alone for even five minutes.
The coolest discovery on this planet so far would be these deposits of rare minerals. They are called Metal 'Fingers'. And they are so rich in the concentration of these rare minerals.
I filled my pockets with Uranium and Gold. I can use these to trade and craft other advanced technology.
I set up a small base with a portal so I can come back here any time. I powered it up with a solar device and battery so it doesn't run out of power. I am still not too sure if it should be powered up to get back to here or if you need power only where you are teleporting from. The more logical thing is they both should be powered up. I will test it later someday.
Having built a small base on this planet allows me to teleport here whenever I want. This planet will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for coming with me on this space adventure.

The game is interesting for sure with amazing graphics, wondering how fantastic it would be to travel at the light speed.
And yes, an interesting name for the planet.
Thank you, man. It is super fun to fly around in space destroying asteroids and take down other pirate ships if they attack us.
Another epic game man... To be him setting up a base on an icy planet sounds challenging but so rewarding. I really love how you described the creatures and the thrill of exploring new terrains. No Man's Sky is such a cool game man very very cool
Thank you for stopping by. I love the game, there is so much to do in this one.
You're most welcome dear friend and you picked a really good game man

The game looks amazing, I always find exploration games like that attractive and more if it is space with only a few images I can say that I find it more interesting than starfield.

Se ve increíble el juego, a mí siempre me parece atractivo los juegos de exploración como ese y más si es espacial con solo unas cuantas imágenes puedo decir que me parece más interesante que starfield.
I love exploration games too and this one is one of the best space games out there. I love it!
I believe you I have seen several and none has as much as that one.
