Could you escape Heat 10 in Need For Speed Most Wanted?

For the past few days, I have been testing some mods for the Need for Speed Most Wanted (2005) and I finally managed to get something that looks good and has many extra options. It took a lot of time tweaking settings, making the graphics look a little better, reducing the horrible motion blurs and fixing the occasional crashes. Was that all worth it? Absolutely!

I am very impressed with how this remastered NFS fan version looks and plays. It comes with some extra options and one of the best is the ability to increase the heat level up to 15.

Heat 10 Pursuit

One of the best things about this game was the police chases so naturally I had to go straight to the heat 10 and see how difficult it is.

So many crazy things happened during this chase. All of the police cars were Light or Heavy SUVs which have so much weight in the game that they become so hard to move. They were dragging me all over the place. Most of the time their hits from behind were so strong that they would get me out of trouble. xD

The backup was 50 cars and they would not die by just flipping like they do in the normal version. This would make them so much more stronger and only the pursuit breakers and hard hits on them would destroy them.

I am sure they can run at 400 Kmph as they were very quick. They would easily outrun me even when my BMW was running at 350 Kmph.

One of the strategies they use is to get in front of my car and apply breaks. But their fellow cop cars would foil this plan as they would hit me so hard from behind that my car would just fly over the front cars.

I am not sure when was the last time a pursuit was this fun and intense. The helicopter was much more aggressive and they would stay on me for much longer than the normal game.

I had given up all hopes of evading because the backup was too quick and the helicopter downtime was too short. But something really interesting happened at the end. I reached this pursuit breaker which connects to the highway and there is a hiding spot just next to it. This spot has helped me a lot of times during my chases and it is one of the best spots to evade successfully.

I was lucky that there was no helicopter over me and all the cars that followed me were destroyed by the pursuit breaker. I quickly went into hiding and slowly the cooldown period was over. This was no less than any miracle. For the past 10 minutes, I was just thinking about how I get away from them and then I was at the right spot at the right time. I had a good laugh during this chase.
