Close games in Rocket League! Road to Champion

Hello gamers, welcome back to my blog.

It has been a long long time since I talked about one of my all-time favorite games, the Rocket League. I have been playing it almost daily but haven't recorded any gameplay until tonight.



I last posted about Rocket League at the start of this year. I was only entering Diamond and kept getting back to Platinum League. But now I have improved and I am currently in Diamond III in 2s, looking to get over this diamond threshold to finally at the Champ. I thought it would take me a year but it has only been 5 months and I am already knocking at the champ's door.

I don't remember any other game which I have played for this long. I purchased it in 2018 and played for a while and then took a long break and picked it up again at the start of last year. I have clocked more than 700 hours with 4500+ total matches. I have a healthy win percentage as well and averaging around 2 goals every match.

But these stats are only telling about the match stats, nothing about the hard work I put in custom training and free play. To be fair I was only playing the game casually and only after the last year I started to focus on improving my gameplay as well.



Check out my gameplay in the above YouTube video, I played two games of 2v2, and both were close games.

In the first game, we conceded 2 goals early but we came back strongly and tied the score 2-2. After that, both teams scored 1 more goal and at the end of our 5 mins, the scores were tied 3-3. The game went to Overtime and the first team to score will win the match. My teammate saved a good shot and then I scored the overtime goal. A well-deserved victory for us.

Just like the last game, we found ourselves with a 0-2 scoreline where we were losing. My teammate even voted to forfeit the match. But I didn't and we came back strongly with 2 goals of our own. The enemy team scored another goal with just 25 seconds remaining and it was tough. We tried our best and even got a scoring chance at the last second but I choked and we lost that game. It was a well-fought-out game where one small mistake cost us the match.

Nice gameplay you're really good. I've never played Rocket League before (at least on pc) it looks nice. I have the mobile version on my phone and even though gameplay is completely different from this, it's quite fun to play. I was surprised you can't just point your car upwards and fly if you have enough boost (that's a major tactic in the mobile version.) its fun and it was fun to watch the original and spot some similarities.

Not really good, just an average Joe in RL.
You can fly towards the car if you have enough boost and hit it but it is a pretty advance mechanic and mastering it takes hundreds of hours. You need to be aware of your teammate postion and emey positions and if you mistime your jump then you get scorred easily.
Well, I am still learning. Not the easiest game to master with such simple concept.

Haven't played Rocket League in ages now. Last I played was the mobile game which was pretty fun.

I got back into Rocket league in 2022 after a break of like 3 years. Few friends pulled me in and now I am addicted. xD

Haven't played the mobile game, I'll try for once.

A good gameplay, the truth is that I have tried rocket league with some friends and it is quite entertaining except for the basketball mode, in that 15 minutes passed and we still could not score a basket hehe, otherwise, it is quite entertaining its mechanics and its game modes.

That basketball mode can be tough for beginners as you need to learn advance mechanics to score. Just driving towards the ball won't be enough, you have to fly, hit the ball in the air with power and use the corners and wall at your advantage... these are not easy things to master.
