Zara Cap, using Ankara fabric.

Hello everyone and happy new week, Christmas season is here again and i hope things are going on well.
It's been an hectic weekend because i had to fix alot for myself and for the family, taking care of the kids can sometimes be stressful especially now that they are on holiday.

Today i decided to make a zara cap for a friend
She had an occasion to attend and her fabric was an Ankara fabric
I felt it would be unique creating a zara cap from ankara fabric.

Here are some material

  • Hard warden
  • Iron
  • Stara
  • Ankara material

The steps and procedures

I got a hard warden material and i cut out my desired measurements in a rectangular shape.
I took 2I inches because of the measurements of my friends's head
Her head measurements was 21inches so i added extra 2 inches on the fabric

Next step
I got an hair stay,i added it to the hard warden to make it stronger,by ironing the stay on the hard warden.

Next step

I sewd it using a sewing machine so that it can be tight and fixed

Next step

I trimmed off the rough ages to make it neat.

Next step

I got the Ankara fabric,i folded it into two.
Took the measurements on where to placed the fabric.

So i placed the hard warden that i had stayed on it.

Next step

I folded it by covering the ankara material over it and i sew it through it

Next step

I marked out a curved design on the fabric
I used hand needle and thread to tagged it as if i wanted to create gathers.

Ater that i tied it firmly and i turned to the right side of the fabric

Next step

The next step was to create a bow for the back of it.

I got smaller pieces, cut it out neatly,i attached a black lining to it and sew it round.
When i had finished,i made a little hole in the middle and i turned out the right side.

I also did the same thing with a black material
I added lining and hair stay,i sewed it and turned it to the right side.

Next step
After creating the bow i had to attached it on the Zara cap

Am glad i could finish it on time and it fitted her head perfectly.
I didn't used up to an hour because i tried being as fast as possible since it was urgent.

Thank you friends for going through my post.
