An anklets for an amazing friend.

Hello beautiful people @jewelry community,am glad to be here, i hope the week is going smoothly,mine has been a bit hectic but am glad it's been successful,am here to share how my day went and how i did an anklets for a friend who just came into town.

Naturally,i love playing with my beads, it's helps me to relax and to let go of stress,but i rarely do anklets,my best jewelry is bracelet and i don't mine having thousands of it,no matter how many i have ,i always long for more.

I remember the first time i had to make an anklets it was for my daughter's cultural day,she was representing igbo culture, in their school,igbo is an ethnic group in south eastern Nigeria,

she needed to appear in their full attire,so,i needed to know more about anklets.

I came to understand that in igbo culture , wearing of the anklet represents wealth and beauty,i was glad that i learnt something new,they usually use it during festivals and great occasions.

some of their anklets are made using elephant tusks and beads,but what i used for my daughter's cultural day was just beads only,i couldn't afford the elephant tusks because it was expensive for me.

But i was satisfied and glad that the beads i used came out nicely,and since then i haven't done any anklets except for today when my friend came to visit me and she saw some of my beads and she asked if i could make an anklets for her.

I told her i haven't done it in a long time but i wouldn't mind doing it for her,she promised to pick it up before she goes back to her state,she's leaving soon and i wish she had a longer time to stay i would have gotten more colorful beads for her,i hope she will love this one i made.

Here are the materials i used

• Scissors
• Fishing lines
• blue and gold color beads
• Measuring tape
• jump ring
• needle pose pliers

The first step i took was to get my fishing line and measuring tape.

I measured the length of the fishing line i wanted and i added few extra inches to it.

I needed it to be enough for me,am not good in joining the lines, i prefer cutting off the excess fishing line when am through with my work than for it to finish when am not yet through.

The second step was to insert the jump ring on the fishing line.

It helps me in making the work easier.

Though most times it depends on the design and style of the beads i create,but i prefer inserting it from the beginning.

Then,the next step i took was to insert 5 pieces of the blue beads on the fishing line followed by five gold color beads.

There after,i used the fishing line, inserted it into the first gold color beads and it gave me a round design.

I repeated the process till i got my preferred measurements.

I took 9 inches for her measurements

I tried it on myself and it was a little tight on me, probably because i am fatter.

Hopefully,it will fit her ankle.

And I hope she will love it.
