The air is fresh 😎 as we set out on our walk through Quintandona. The village, quiet at this early hour, slowly awakens with the sounds of roosters crowing and the distant clatter of farm tools!

This serene start allows us to fully appreciate the natural beauty and historical ambiance that Quintandona has to offer.

One of the most striking features of Quintandona is its commitment to preserving its vernacular architecture. This dedication to maintaining traditional building styles is evident in the village granite, schist, and slate constructions. These materials, sourced locally, have been used for centuries and give the village its distinctive look and feel.

In 2013, the village efforts to preserve its cultural heritage were formally recognised. As we walk through the village, we are surrounded by houses built from granite, schist, and slate. These materials not only provide durability but also blend seamlessly with the natural landscape. The granite walls, sturdy and weathered, tell stories of generations past. Schist, with it is layered texture adds a rustic charm, while slate roofs provide a striking contrast against the blue sky.

Each house is unique, yet they all share a common architectural language that speaks to the region history and traditions. The buildings adding to their picturesque appearance. Walking through the narrow, cobblestone streets, it feels as though we have stepped back in time!!

Its stone walls and arched windows create a serene atmosphere, inviting visitors to pause and reflect.
