I had the opportunity to attend the WRC Rally de Portugal 2024 at Exponor in Porto, and it was a amzing experience. My visit allowed me to witness some remarkable cars up close, though I didn't get inside any of them.

When I arrived at Exponor, there was a large crowd gathered outside, as the rally cars were still arriving from the race. The atmosphere was electric, with fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of their favorite vehicles and drivers.

Ford GT 2017

The first car that caught my eye was the stunning Ford GT 2017. It is sleek design and powerful presence immediately set the tone for the rest of the day.

Ford Escort RS1800 & Ford Escort RS2000

Moving along, I then saw the iconic a Ford Escort RS1800. This classic rally car, with its rich history and heritage, stood as a testament to the evolution of rally sports over the years. Following this, I admired the Ford Escort RS2000 another gem that highlighted the engineering marvels of its time.

After enjoying the views of these fantastic cars, I made my way to the pit area. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived, many teams were already packing up to leave since the Rally de Portugal had concluded. It was a bit disappointing to see the hustle and bustle of the area dying down, but it was still interesting to catch a glimpse of the behind the scenes activities of a rally event.

In the middle of the crowd, I noticed a rally car that had clearly seen better days. It was involved in an accident during the race. The vehicle front end was damaged. Despite its battered appearance, the car drew significant attention from the onlookers, a testament to the unpredictable and thrilling nature of rally racing.

In the many impressive vehicles I saw at the event, the Ford RS 200 stood out. It is distinctive design and rally heritage made it a highlight for many attendees.

Ford Sierra Cosworth

In addition to the other remarkable cars, I also had the chance to see the Ford Sierra Cosworth. It is striking design and powerful presence were undeniable. This car, known for its impressive performance in rally history.

Ford Escort RS

I also had the pleasure of seeing the Ford Escort RS. Its classic lines and racing pedigree made it a standout among the other cars on display.

Inside the Exponor pavilion, there were several driving simulators set up, offering a virtual taste of the rally experience. However, much to my dismay, the organizers had started to shut everything down. I missed the chance to try them out, which was a letdown, as I was eager to test my driving skills in a simulated rally environment.

Portuguese police cars 🚔 🇵🇹

As I made my way out of the event, I stumbled upon an impressive display of 🇵🇹 Portuguese police cars 🚔 stationed outside. The lineup included a BMW i8, a Ford Mustang, and a GTR, showcasing the modern and high-performance vehicles used by law enforcement. It was a fitting end to my visit, seeing these powerful machines standing guard.

The BMW i8, a Ford Mustang, and a GTR, all of which are part of the fleet used by the Portuguese police and GNR. These high-performance vehicles serve various roles within the law enforcement agencies, showcasing their commitment to utilising advanced technology and superior engineering to maintain public safety.

The sleek and powerful designs of these cars not only make a strong visual statement but also highlight the capability and readiness of the Portuguese police and GNR to respond effectively to various situations. Seeing these impressive vehicles up close was a fascinating end to my visit.

The WRC Rally de Portugal 2024 🏁 at Exponor was an exciting event filled with remarkable cars and activities. Despite not being able to engage with the simulators or fully experience the pit area, the sight of iconic vehicles and the grand display of police cars it was a good experience.
