The Forgotten Isle. A Sailing and Travel Poem. ⛵
The Forgotten Isle
One summer's day, I chanced to roam,
Beyond the shore, far from home.
Through mist and wave, I found a place,
A forgotten isle, lost in space.
Its shores were soft, with sands of gold,
Where stories whispered, never told.
The trees stood tall, with leaves so green,
In a world untouched, serene, unseen.
I wandered paths that time forgot,
Where nature wove its secret plot.
No footsteps marred the quiet land,
As I walked with wonder, hand in hand.
The breeze was sweet with scents unknown,
And in the air, a magic grown.
I lingered long, my heart at peace,
In that isle's embrace, a perfect ease.
But as the sun began to fade,
And shadows danced in twilight’s shade,
I knew I must return once more,
To the life I knew, the distant shore.
Reluctantly, I sailed away,
With dreams of coming back one day.
But when I tried to find that shore,
The isle was gone, forevermore.
I searched the waves, I scanned the skies,
But the isle had vanished from my eyes.
No map could trace its hidden face,
No compass point, no starry grace.
It slipped away, like a fading dream,
A fleeting glimpse, a silver gleam.
The isle that once had called to me,
Was lost to time, to mystery.
Now in my heart, it lives and breathes,
In whispered winds, in rustling leaves.
A place that once was mine to see,
Now drifts beyond eternity.
For some things are not meant to stay,
But to touch our souls, then fade away.
The forgotten isle, a memory spun,
A fleeting moment under the sun.

🐬🐬🐬Donate to the Dolphin Project 🐬🐬🐬https://www.dolphinproject.com/donate/
Dolphin Project is a non-profit charitable organization, dedicated to the welfare and protection of dolphins worldwide. Founded by Richard (Ric) O’Barry on Earth Day, April 22, 1970, the organization aims to educate the public about captivity and, where feasible, retire and/or release captive dolphins.
The mission of Dolphin Project is to end dolphin exploitation and slaughter, as dolphins are routinely captured, harassed, slaughtered and sold into captivity around the world – all in the name of profit. Dolphin Project works not only to halt these slaughters, but also to rehabilitate captive dolphins for retirement and/or release, investigate and advocate for economic alternatives to dolphin slaughter, and to put a permanent end to dolphin captivity.
Port Sundries is not affiliated with Dolphin Project but supports their goal 100%.
