Sustainable Fish Farming
Sustainable fish farming is a practice of raising and harvesting aquatic animals in natural or man-made environments that can be maintained without significantly impacting the environment. This method involves making sure there are enough food sources and healthy habitats to sustain the population while minimizing impacts on other species, water resources, aquaculture practices, soil health, air quality and local wildlife. It also emphasizes maintaining biodiversity as well as preventing overfishing by replenishing low populations through stocking programs. Sustainable methods ensure that sustainable fisheries remain viable for generations to come.

The most common techniques used in sustainable fish farming include aquaculture, cage and pond culture, hatchery-raised species, and recirculating aquaculture systems. Aquaculture is the practice of growing freshwater or marine organisms for food production in a controlled environment such as tanks or ponds. Cage and pond culture are ways to raise certain species of fish by enclosing them within cages that keep predator animals out while allowing aquatic life free access to their habitat. Hatchery-raised species consist mainly of nonindigenous fishes with gentle temperaments suitable for stocking into bodies of water like lakes and rivers where they can reproduce naturally without displacing local wildlife populations from their habitats. Recirculating aquaculture systems involve using filters, biofiltration media beds, aeration devices, pumps etc., which help provide consistent levels of dissolved oxygen thus creating ideal conditions for rearing specific kinds of fishes indoors over long periods without causing any pollution to the natural environment.

Sustainable fish farming helps maintain wild fisheries that may otherwise be devastated by human activities due its capacity to balance responsible production against conservation efforts ensuring both effective harvesting practices along with healthy habitats remain intact at all times in order avoid depleting existing stocks completely forever leading too decreased nutrition supplies worldwide amongst many other benefits.

We picked this recipe since it should go well with other sustainable white fish and not just cod, or a vegan fish substitute.

🐬🐬🐬Donate to the Dolphin Project 🐬🐬🐬https://www.dolphinproject.com/donate/
Dolphin Project is a non-profit charitable organization, dedicated to the welfare and protection of dolphins worldwide. Founded by Richard (Ric) O’Barry on Earth Day, April 22, 1970, the organization aims to educate the public about captivity and, where feasible, retire and/or release captive dolphins.
The mission of Dolphin Project is to end dolphin exploitation and slaughter, as dolphins are routinely captured, harassed, slaughtered and sold into captivity around the world – all in the name of profit. Dolphin Project works not only to halt these slaughters, but also to rehabilitate captive dolphins for retirement and/or release, investigate and advocate for economic alternatives to dolphin slaughter, and to put a permanent end to dolphin captivity.
Port Sundries is not affiliated with Dolphin Project but supports their goal 100%.
