Fishing for Food, Finding Treasure

With rod in hand, at dawn’s first light,
I cast my line into the quiet night.
The waters calm, the world at peace,
As I search for food, a simple feast.

The ripples spread, the bait sinks low,
In hopes of catching what the depths bestow.
The sea is vast, its secrets deep,
And as I wait, my thoughts do keep.

A sudden tug, the line goes tight,
I pull with care, my heart alight.
But what I find is more than fish,
A treasure gleams, a fulfilled wish.

A glint of gold, a hidden gem,
Lost to time, reclaimed by them.
The ocean’s depths, they give and take,
And sometimes leave a gift in wake.

A locket worn, with love inside,
A coin that sailed on many tides.
Or just a shell, in perfect form,
A treasure born of sea and storm.

The hunger fades, replaced by awe,
At what the ocean’s hand has drawn.
For in the quest to find my meal,
I’ve found a wealth, surreal, surreal.

Sometimes in life, it’s not the gain,
Of what we seek with careful aim.
But in the cast, the wait, the tide,
That brings the treasure we hold inside.

So I fish with joy, not just for food,
But for the wonders that change my mood.
For the sea, it holds a treasure trove,
For those who seek with heart and love.

🐬🐬🐬Donate to the Dolphin Project 🐬🐬🐬https://www.dolphinproject.com/donate/
Dolphin Project is a non-profit charitable organization, dedicated to the welfare and protection of dolphins worldwide. Founded by Richard (Ric) O’Barry on Earth Day, April 22, 1970, the organization aims to educate the public about captivity and, where feasible, retire and/or release captive dolphins.
The mission of Dolphin Project is to end dolphin exploitation and slaughter, as dolphins are routinely captured, harassed, slaughtered and sold into captivity around the world – all in the name of profit. Dolphin Project works not only to halt these slaughters, but also to rehabilitate captive dolphins for retirement and/or release, investigate and advocate for economic alternatives to dolphin slaughter, and to put a permanent end to dolphin captivity.

Port Sundries is not affiliated with Dolphin Project but supports their goal 100%.
