Weekend Experiences - Trees and Rivers in Lake Areas That Support Human Live
Hello Weekend Experiences friends, I hope you are healthy and blessed.
In this post I want to share my activities this weekend, on Saturday afternoon I left for Takengon city by motorcycle. From the city of Lhokseumawe it takes up to 3 hours to travel by passing bends, climbs and descents in hilly terrain. Arriving in the city of Takengon, it was late afternoon before 16.00 WIB GMT+7, I had to rest at an inn rental place.
I enjoyed the night activities in the city of Takengon until it was so late, because during the month of Ramadan many shops were still open and the activities of the residents walking around at night to shop. Then I rest at night at the inn which is located in the city center. Lodging here is rented at low prices, even during Ramadan there are not many guests at this inn.
In the morning I wake up and take a shower to go around to the lake, before noon I go out of the inn by riding a motorcycle. This morning it looks sunny, local residents seem to be doing activities as usual on holidays. I traced the road to the Ruhama Mosque area, the grand mosque in downtown Takengon which is an icon of pride for Muslims and Takengon residents.
This mosque with a golden dome is located in the city center which is also close to a number of government offices. On the side of the road the mosque is also holding a Ramadan bazaar, they will open in the evening. Bazaars to support micro businesses are routinely held every Ramadan, the excitement of Ramadan can also be seen with this bazaar.
At the Bazaar they usually sell various foods, drinks and snacks to break the fast. Many residents come to this culinary center when it is late afternoon to buy takjil to break their fast. After leaving the mosque location, I followed the market road leading to the river bridge in the Hakim Bale Bujang Village area on the track leading to Lut Tawar lake.
I want to enjoy the sunny day on this bridge while watching the activities of the people living around this river. This is the main road trajectory to the Bintang sub-district, the Lut Tawar lake area. This bridge is the main access, many residents pass by with vehicles passing the crossing.
This river is a river in the Peusangan watershed (DAS Peusangan) which originates from Lake Lut Tawar. On the side of the sluice, a dam construction project was being carried out. They are in the process of working on it and the dam project looks unfinished and not functioning.
The main flow of this river originates from a lake which is not far from the location when I took this picture. This river is used as a source of water to meet the daily needs of residents living around the river. Meanwhile, there are also many fishermen who look for fish in the river using canoes to catch them and some are fishing on bridges.
The fish in this river can be consumed, they even make small huts on the banks of the river which are used for fish traps by fishing, using traps or fishing. This river supports the survival of residents along the river flow to Bireuen district and penetrates downstream into the Malacca Straits.
A number of houses in densely populated areas were seen standing in a row along the river bank. The majority of the Gayo highlands are occupied by the Gayo people, there are also migrants from the Acehnese or Javanese people. Being in this river location makes me happy to see the beautiful mountain and river views.
This river is a very important part of the ecosystem to support human survival. It is very important for everyone to preserve nature for a better future life. So it is necessary for us to take care of this river so that it is not polluted from various environmental pollution which can damage the water quality, so that it will be bad for the survival of humans and populations in the water.
I am very happy to be able to share this article with you, I hope you like my weekend story. I appreciate your support and empathy for my posts ♥️
