Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Baron's Bounty

Hello everybody in the hive community and to all gamers of hive. This is my entry to the splinterlands social media challenge for this week. The last time I made an entry to the social media challenge, I wrote about the new changes that have been added to the game and this time, I want to talk about a special event the splinterlands team have organized.

The team announced about 18 days ago that a promotional event was going to start on the 16th of April, 2024 to mark the celebration of bitcoin halving. I did not know about bitcoin halving since I am quite new to the crypto community until about 2 or 3 days to the bitcoin halving event. The event was spoken about a lot in the crypto community which made me to read about it and it was then I got to know bitcoin halving is a special event done every 4 years to reduce the mining rewards by half.

The special promotional event organized by the splinterlands teams to celebrate the bitcoin halving has seen 2 new cards that have been put up for sale. These 2 cards are; Baron Fyatt and Henchling Enforcer. These 2 cards are going for different prices and their prices are a special tribute to the bitcoin halving.

The new mining rewards is 3.25 BTC and the prices of these 2 new cards align with this new btc mining reward. The price of Baron Fyatt is going for 31.25k DEC/Credits and that of Henchling Enforcer is going for 3.125k DEC/Credits. However, the prices of these cards are reduced for players that burn vouchers. The Baron Fyatt is a legendary card and the Henchling Enforcer is a rare card which accounts for the high price differences.

At the time of writing this entry to the challenge, the Baron's Bounty was left with 3 days, 6 hours, 35 minutes and 23 seconds. The Baron Fyatt is a dual element card (death and fire) and has a health of 6, speed of 2, magic of 5, and a mana of 5. The Henchling Enforcer is also a dual element card (life and water) and has a range attack of 4, speed of 4, 2 shield, 6 mana and 5 health.

In addition to buying these cards, there are prizes to be won for players who buy the cards. At the end of the promotional event, the prizes will be shared according to those who top the Baron's leaderboard. Points will be shared to players who buy the card and those who get to 10000 points will be able to get a share of the prizes which amount to a total worth of about $10K.

The prizes to be won include; x500 Plot Tokens, x20 RUNI, x100 Alpha packs, x250 Beta packs, x50 essence orbs, x100 azamare dice and x500 untamed packs. The listed prizes are lucky draw prizes which the players who make it to 10K points get to win.

There are also leaderboard prizes which the top 200 will win. These are titles these players will be crowned with. The top 10 will be called The Burninator, 11-60 will be named The Incinerator and the 61-200 will be named The Scorcher. The top 20 of these players will receive bonus cards in addition to their titles.
