No player enjoys sitting on the bench all through the match season, and not featuring on the field.

What employer will be interested to have in his organization an employee who will sit and watch other employees sweat it out?

What government will recognize and reward an obscure citizen who has made no contribution to her affairs?

It amazes me the kind of passion and enthusiasm with which football fans embrace their so-called teams in the European leagues.
I've heard cases where people fought over which team wins the trophy.

In front of my house is a fuel "black-market." Only one person runs the business, but every day from morning till night, there will be a group of young boys shouting on top of their voices.
What are they arguing about?
Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Arsenal; next they discuss Robin Van Persie, Yaya Toure, Christian Ronaldo and the rest.

So these guys argue all day about the best player, the highest-paid player, the best coach ..... and everything about others but themselves.

One day as I listened to them shouting at themselves about who the hit players are, this thought dropped into my mind: there as basically two categories of people on earth - the players who play to win or lose and the spectators who watch to cheer or boo.

Hay básicamente dos categorías de personas en la tierra: los jugadores que juegan para ganar o perder y los espectadores que miran para animar o abuchear.

La vida es una contribución. La vida es servicio.
Nadie ha sido enviado a este mundo como espectador. No has venido a la tierra para seguir siendo un mendigo, que sólo recibe y nunca da nada. No estás aquí sólo porque hay un espacio para un hombre o una mujer; no estás aquí simplemente porque tu familia necesitaba una niña o un niño.

¿Qué gobierno reconocerá y recompensará a un oscuro ciudadano que no ha hecho ninguna contribución a sus asuntos?

Me sorprende el tipo de pasión y entusiasmo con que los aficionados al fútbol abrazan a sus supuestos equipos en las ligas europeas.

Frente a mi casa hay un "mercado negro" de combustible. Sólo una persona regenta el negocio, pero todos los días, desde por la mañana hasta por la noche, hay un grupo de chicos jóvenes gritando a voz en grito.

Así que estos chicos discuten todo el día sobre el mejor jugador, el mejor pagado, el mejor entrenador ..... y todo sobre los demás menos sobre ellos mismos.

Un día, mientras les escuchaba discutir sobre quiénes son los mejores jugadores, me vino a la cabeza este pensamiento: en la tierra hay básicamente dos categorías de personas: los jugadores que juegan para ganar o perder y los espectadores que miran para animar o abuchear.
Mira lo que pasa: los jugadores están en el campo y los aficionados están fuera del campo.

Los jugadores actúan, los aficionados miran; los jugadores sudan, los aficionados se ríen.

Los jugadores reciben la paga, y los aficionados discuten la paga.

Los jugadores se hacen notar, se celebran y se recuerdan mucho tiempo después del partido, pero los aficionados pasan desapercibidos, no se celebran y se olvidan mucho tiempo antes de que termine el partido.
