An Unexpected Guests In My Front Yard - First Time Successful Birding?
As I was doing my laundry the other day I hear this unfamiliar sounds above my head. I saw birds feasting on a ripe papaya in my front yard. I continued my laundry and as soon as I finished I took my time waiting patiently for them to come back.
At first there was one then two and three and four birds feasting the papaya in front of me. They are probably around 5 meters away from me which was a good distance for my bridge camera to take decent shots so I took the opportunity and see how it goes.
I wasn't expecting much from the shots that I took especially since I already have some history doing bird photography with this camera and to be honest it "SUCKS" but I was surprised by the shots that I took this time.
This bird came in late and just jumped at the papaya fruit munching on it even when it didn't even have a proper foothold at the trunk which was kinda funny to me. Since they were busy eating I had the time to properly set the focus points in their eyes.
I was manually focusing on their eyes moving the focus point but then this bird noticed my subtle movements and looked at the camera directly. I was being really careful not to scare them away and blew this perfect chance to do some birding.
Now not just the spotted one but also the black one is now wary of my presence and both of them flew away in a hasty manner. I was really lucky to get some (decent shots) coz honestly the birding I had experienced before was not even usable :(
This guy remained but only for a bit. He paused as he saw me and I was again lucky enough to get the focus plus the composition right (talk about good luck lol) coz for people who does birding know for sure. Birds don't really cooperate to photographers.
Intro
Hello there people in Feathered Friends, it is my first time posting here in this community so I hope you'll be gentle with me 😅. I've been a fellow Hiver for over a year now. As I said above in the photo descriptions that this was my very first "DECENT" birding shot in over a year. I have seen a lot of people posting really good or great pictures of birds using this camera and to be quite honest I always find myself scratching my head as to "HOW". Well most of those bird are either probably very docile or really big. Coz the bird that I shot today is probably around 3 to 4 inches tall and 1.5 to 2 inches thick so it was a really small bird. I zoomed those shots in at 800mm in this camera coz if I used any focal length above 800mm then the images would turn out mushy and soft. Are those shots good? For me "HELL YEAH" it is coz the ones that I shot before were all soft and mushy thanks to using the max zoom of 1200mm focal length.
Now you might think, but all these images are very noisy. I know and I can see it as well but honestly I don't really care coz the fact that I got some "DECENT" enough photos with details and not all mushy and soft makes me quite a happy dude. The eyes is in focus considering I had to manually point that focus point in the eyes and all birders know how hard this is. I was just lucky that I had the perfect bait in front of me to make the birds busy lol.
What do you guys think? Are these bird photos good enough or it is still isn't? I do appreciate if you guys can comment on this since I know that you guys are probably the experts when it comes to birding. Have any of you tried using this camera of mine to do some birding? What are your thoughts? Anyways that is all for me today. I doubt I'll be able to find a perfect opportunity to do some birding just like this day so this is probably my one and only post here in this community unless I buy a real DSLR with a zoom lens. Till next time, see yah!

Good evening, it's a shame that you put a tag that is worthless and don't put the most important one like hive-engine that wins the bee token, I was voting for that, but I see that you don't put it if you decide to put it in all your posts, do it to me know and I will start voting for you again, I have in my possession more than 9k of bee
Hey there thanks for the tip 😊 Honestly I do use the tag hive-engine but the problem with the front-end liketu is that they updated the tags to not include "-" which means instead of a #hive-engine it would be #hiveengine. If you look at my photography posts since 19 days ago and beyond all of them were posted in liketu and all of them have a #hive-engine tag 😅 I don't understand why they would make an update like this but oh well
Yes, I know, that's why I was voting for you, but I realized that you've had 3 posts and the tag doesn't appear, if you fix the problem, let me know and I'll keep voting for you, regards
Thanks man maybe I should find another front end to use. Thanks for voting my posts I really appreciate it 🥰
And another observation, make 1 post a day, if you keep making 3 or 4 a day you will lose followers and votes, it is a piece of advice
I do only post 1 photography related post a day. The other posts are fitness related contents since I do Actifit as well. Should I just make another account for all my photography posts? I'm not really sure. I've been doing hive for over a year now and nobody really taught me anything or gave me tips 🥺 so I just went on and do my usual stuff
apoloo#0522 This is my discord, if you want I can guide you a bit

In all fairness Pink these shots are good! Nakakatuwa yung pagkaubos ng papaya, kung ako siguro may-ari nyan tinaboy ko kagad yan hahah.
Lol I would honestly do the same thing if only I didn't remember that it was such a great opportunity to finally get some decent close up shots of birds. It has been like a dream of mine to really get these close up shots since I'm used to getting shots like the ones below lol
As you can see the bird is quite small, far away, dark, soft and grainy. This is what I usually get when I do birding lol so I was so happy to finally get some decent shots after using this camera for over a year hurray!
Yay! 🤗
