Enjoying The Natural Wonder In My Hometown

I recently had the opportunity once more to explore an incredible destination, and my experience was so memorable. I found myself feeling both energized and humbled by the experience.

I never tire of returning to the wild heart of nature with a picturesque view. The triumphant clouds, the lush scenery, and the breathtaking view took my heart for a while.

As I went once more to the beautiful Lawis Grand Canyon, located in my hometown, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, I felt the natural wonder as I reflected on my life. Perhaps I was enjoying the Lawis Grand Canyon with its breathtaking natural spectacle.

I was amazed by the canyon’s steep walls and vibrant colors that change throughout the day and the deep and narrow gorge stretching over a kilometer. The canyon is beautifully surrounded by lush greenery and towering trees, making it a truly picturesque location.

I wished to hike along the canyon's edge, rappel down the walls, or even zip line across the gorge. But when I went there, it was an unplanned journey as we were passing by the Mantibugao road, so we took the opportunity to visit it once more. Indeed the canyon offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

As I witnessed the winding trails and rocky terrain, I could not help but feel a sense of awe and wonder at the stunning beauty surrounding me. Towering cliffs and jagged rock formations rose on all sides, casting long shadows across the canyon floor. The colors of the rock were red, orange, and gold hues.

When I got there, I could say it was the best time to visit Lawis Grand Canyon, for the canyon is less likely to be filled with water, making exploring and viewing easier. However, I was cautious and followed all safety guidelines, as the canyon can be dangerous if proper precautions are not taken.

I learned something new when I came back to Lawis Grand Canyon. According to an old folk I met at the summit that aside from its natural beauty, Lawis Grand Canyon has a rich cultural history. He said that stories were retold by ancient people even before the canyon was sacred to the indigenous Talaandig people, who believe that it is home to spirits that protect their community. So they asked visitors to respect the local culture and traditions when visiting the canyon.

Meanwhile, it made me reflect on life and that the triumphant blue clouds are always brighter than what it reflects. The gnarled and monstrous trees are always stately fruitful than what it radiates. And the still brown untamed river is always grand than what it casts back. So it is a matter of living with an apparent reasonable purpose and bravely living with a humble heart.

As I looked deeply into the canyon, I was surrounded by a silence only broken by my footsteps. I felt a sense of peace and tranquility that I had not experienced in years, and for a moment, it seemed as though time had stood still.

The Lawis Grand Canyon is one of my favorite destinations in my hometown for its natural beauty and cultural significance, which makes it a unique and unforgettable experience that left a lasting impression in my solitary heart. Perhaps it had left an indelible mark on me, reminding me of the power and majesty of the natural world and my place within it.
