A beautiful praying mantis

Dear readers, today I want to share some nice photographs of one of the most striking insects of the kingdom Animalia, at least for me, I'm talking about the famous Praying Mantis, this insect is a creature of the order Mantodea is quite interesting, from the information I researched it is a very ancient species. Its name has been related to a "prophetic animal” reason why it is a little animal that generates a lot of curiosity, there are many species that exist, and in each region they are known by different common names, for example, in my region some people call it “put the table” quite strange, by the way, but it is also known as blowgun, stick insect or devil's horse.

From the agricultural point of view, it is a species of great biological value, since they are beautiful and colorful predators that can provide a great benefit in agroecosystems, since they can help maintain a balance by controlling pest insects that may be affecting agricultural crops thus becoming an iconic insect for its enormous beneficial impact on ecosystems. Another of its abilities is the ability to camouflage itself in front of its prey and thus be able to capture them more easily, acquiring colors of nature such as brown from the bark of tree trunks or green like leaves.

The mantis is one of the most impressive insects that can be found in many tropical areas, its anatomy generates a lot of curiosity, and easily steals the viewer's attention, it has long prehensile legs with which it can climb or simply hold its prey, but what most captivates is its head, in which stand out beautiful bulging eyes that hypnotize you, so much so that when I ran into this little animal in the courtyard of my house do not hesitate for a second to make a photo shoot to immortalize the moment. Another interesting fact about the species is that after mating the female devours the male, that is, she literally eats him, as they would say in my country, quite greedy!

After taking several shots, I managed to get quite close, and with the support of the macro camera of my cell phone I got some nice images of this specimen.
