Meal Time #1 | Best Running Sushi in Czech Republic?

Hey fellow foodies!

Today's meal time is all about the best running sushi restaurant that I have discovered (so far) in the Czech Republic. It is called Running Sushi House and you can find their location and price below:

📍 IGY Centrum, Pražská 1247/24, České Budějovice, 370 04
💲 488 Kč ($23 / €21 / £18.50)

I recently discovered the best running sushi restaurant in the Czech Republic! I'm originally from Cape Town, South Africa so I grew up on seafood and have had my fair share of sushi over the years... I wouldn't say that I am an expert, more like a harsh critic. I can also easily eat more than 70+ pieces of sushi so I've always had to go to sushi buffets otherwise I would have been bankrupt by now...

A couple of years ago, I immigrated to the Czech Republic (land-locked country) and I was quite sceptical of the seafood that Prague had to offer. I immediately took every chance I could to try the various running sushi buffets and thought that I found my favourite spot. This all changed when I visited family in České Budějovice and went to Running Sushi House.

I managed to snap a quick shot of the ambience in the restaurant. It's located at the edge of a mall and right next to the street so nothing fancy but definitely affordable and 100% worth it:

To start, I ordered this really nice homemade fruit lemonade which came in this tiny jug which was pretty cute:

Then, I started devouring all the standard sushi you would expect. These were just the various rolls that I wanted to eat - There were several more varieties but none of them interested me as much. I can't remember exactly how many plates I had but I do know that I had built an impressive tower with all the plates:

I also had some space for some cheeky noodles:

But! The absolute best sushi that they had to offer was seared salmon nigiri with melted cheese and BBQ sauce. It was absolutely divine and had 10+ places (20+ pieces) of this alone.

Aaaaaand for dessert, some coconut milk and fried banana balls with honey 😍

While running sushi restaurants usually do not have the best quality sushi since it is a buffet, I must say that I was impressed with the quality that Running Sushi House provided. Now, I just need to make an excuse to visit the in-laws again so I can stop by for round 2!

Thanks for this foodie post :). Nice to hear about your experience in Czechia. I once was in Cape Town but I do not remember finding sushi places. Do you have any recommendations?

Yeah, I have many! But it depends what you want? Buffet sushi so the quality isn't as amazing but you can have loads or would you prefer quality sushi but only having a limited amount?

I've heard that Active Sushi is the best budget sushi buffet but I've always preferred Hamachi. Otherwise, 1890 House Sushi and Grill was amazing when I was there last.

Hi @foodiesunite

Ah, I see. So the only issue with this post is that it is a cross post, is that correct? Just want to make sure I understand the community guidelines clearly.

Hi @pikatika

I'm sorry I saw this late, but that's not the problem, if you read rule 5 carefully, we ask users to appear in at least 3 photos, either making the recipes or submitting the gastronomic reviews; obviously, the posts must have a greater number of photos, but you must be in at least 3, because we want to know you. On the other hand, we do not see that you have made a presentation post in Hive, and this is very necessary.

And I don't understand why you say that this is a cross publication, because it is not.

Hi @foodiesunite

Oh, I see. Thanks for the follow up explanation.

I don't know what a presentation post is? Do I need to post in a specific community and introduce myself or is it just a general introduction post and it doesn't matter where I post it as long as I have it on my blog?

That's my mistake, I didn't understand how cross posts worked and thought the problem was that I added more irrelevant tags to my post such as "meme" but I only recently learnt that it is a different thing to cross posting, right?

The best running sushi experience I've had was in Japan. Definitely want to go back for all the delicious food!
