Visiting Pugaan Elementary School For Witnessing The Earthquake Drill Activities

Greetings everyone, for today's blog I would like to share few of the Pictures I have during the Earthquake drill Activities happens in Pugaan, Elementary School. Now, this school was consists of 700 students from Grades 1 to 6. As we received the news about the said activities, we are very excited to witness the said important activities. Last day, the City of Iligan announced that all Elementary Schools should do earthquake drill every once a week. So as this school did, the teachers agreed what the City LGU announced and requested. The Principal of this school also announced her co-teachers to set the exact time Of this activity.

Before the activities started, they do the flag raising ceremonies first and after that, the principal announced in front of all that there will be going to have earthquake drill at exactly 9 AM. While there was still time, after the announcement, they decided to go to the rooms including the students or children and tackled one lesson while or subject while waiting the drill. Exactly 9AM, when the buzzer was rang including the bell. The teachers assisted their students very well and they always talked to their children to stay calm. Being calm can make it relaxing and we will know on what to do. The ring of the bell and buzzer takes 5 minutes, while the children were still inside of the classroom holding their head covered with books. While others was hiding under the table. When the ring was gone, they started to fo out in the classrooms and they proceed to the open ground. The children are well-behave and they also follow the rules and instructions from their teachers.

The children are very serious about the drill and we can see in their face about worries but the teachers are keep assisting and advicing their children to stay calm. The teachers group the children so it can be easily be gathered into one place. I felt very amazed of the activities I seen because the children are well briefing about what will happen during the drill. The children go to the designated place according to their teachers instructions. Some of the Parents of the children, especially the Kindergarten children are also assisting their children to do the right drill of the activities. This school is near at the fault and near at the mountain that is why it should be really getting ready for what will happen when the earthquake strikes.

The earthquake drill took half an hour and after that, there are short announcement comes from the Principal herself. The principal were very thankful to all children and teachers for joining the activities and also to the Parents also. The LGU Iligan also took the pictures as documentary and shows the fully support regarding of the activities comes from the LGU requested. As I observed, the children are already well prepared for the coming of the big one, and it helps them to keep them safe and secured.
