A COMMISSIONED WORK

Good day and Happy New Week to you all.

So today, I would be sharing one of my commissioned works. It's a drawing of an older friend of mine who is a medical personnel.

He told me he'ld like to get a portrait for himself but I turned down the offer because I just concluded a not-so-good-looking artwork which got me scared to start a new one, especially now that I'd get paid for it.

I eventually agreed to make the piece but I ensured to reach out to my art mentor who put me through somewhat a two day training; the training really helped me sharpen my skill the more and gave me the confidence needed to embark on my art journey. On getting back home I began the whole process with my full chest (you know there's this confidence that follows suit when you know you have mastered a thing, actually that was the exact feeling I had.

Of course I enjoyed every bit of this beautiful work and also, I ensured to send the man (my client) the progress shots, this in a way assured him of my commitment to his work and in the end he gave me some extra money because he really loved the outcome of the artwork.

I used pelican paper, Charcoal pencils, blending stump and brushes to achieve this piece.

I used the gridding method to make the outlines.

I love the fact that the eye glasses came out so real.

..and yes I got it framed.
