NY Resolutions and Creating Hive Goals .:. Hive Humpday Hangout Ep.10 (Wednesday, December 27, 5 PM UTC)
When I was creating the last #HHHLive show's announcement post, I didn't realize that it would have a "double impact" on people... Whenever I pick a topic, I write short reminders what will/could we talk about in the show, or adding some questions to help participants to easier present their thoughts if they come on voice! I did that for the last show, writing down questions about the past year and achievements that you have done... It looks like it was helpful as we had a great number of participants in voice, but also, some people created posts on HIVE around those questions!!! So, it was like a spontaneous INITIATIVE that reached even more audience, making a bigger impact!!!
The benefits of reflections are immense! From my personal experience, if I would think fast about this year, I would say that it wasn't that good and that we were struggling with crypto bears... But, if I would go point by point, searching for details, I would realize that this year was much, much better than I thought! It worked in the same way with other people and it became a strong motivational push for many! Speaking of motivation, our next topic is all about that...

In this show, we will talk about my second favorite topic after HivePower, #MyHiveGoals! As we are at the end of the year, a lot of us are used to creating those New Year resolutions, that we like to "rush out" in the first moments of the year, and many times fail to do them the whole year... 😂 Then the new year comes, and we do the same, over and over again... So, instead of creating simple resolutions like "I will eat healthier", or "I will go to the gym every day", I was thinking that it would be a great idea to go one step further and instead of doing that, we could create 2024 GOALS and maybe a PLAN how to execute them!
For the last couple of years, I've been doing the #MyHiveGoals initiative (report posts) and it helped me a lot to stay focused and motivated! So, I was thinking of sharing my experience and how I'm doing them with others, but also, asking you about your goals for 2024!
In the show, we will talk about your NY resolutions and goals... To make this topic more familiar we will discuss the next things...
- How to create "good" goals? What are S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound) goals? Why they are different than simple NY resolutions?
- Did you create goals at the beginning of the year and did you follow them?
- Did you reach your goals?
- Where would you like to keep your focus in 2024?
- Do you plan to do something differently next year? To take that one step that you have been procrastinating for a long time? 🙂
- Share your goals for 2024

Looks like I'm dead in the water for growing here on hive and is back to the slow grind and struggle.
But I've got trading and my investment portfolio!
It can be a struggle to progress on HIVE, that's for sure... I thought of quitting many times, but luckily, I had the support of many great people here... I stayed for them and fun...

I think I can agree with you that it was a tough year and maybe didnt seem so good, but when you look at the details it was pretty good. It does look like we are racing out of the tunnel and there is some bright light ahead! 2024 is looking like it could be pretty good. Looking forward to the show, I am still working on my goals and the plan to execute them!
I really, really hope that we will have a good 2024... What worries me is that everyone expects that... which usually isn't a good sign as we get the opposite... But, let's not paint the devil on the wall... :)

Do I have big Hive goals in 2024? Yes, I can double my HP if I go right. We'll see what happens. I also have goals outside of Hive. I'm going to achieve them and make everything work. I like to think positive. I'll be on the road all day tomorrow, but I hope to make it to the show.

Hehehehe... I will pull the break next year as I expect some bull market... And I don't want to make the same mistake as 4 years ago... to not take some profits... :) So, I doubt that my goal will be 150K... :)
hehe yeah Hive price will eventually push higher, as fortaking profits, this is why we invest in something. I keep telling people in crypto to learn to take profits! Yes an interesting one to make numerical goals next year.
It is important to take profits, for sure! My issue is that I have a different connection "with HIVE", so I doubt that I will power down, or cash out my holdings... If we go up, I will probably exchange current earnings, and sell some of my bags from liquidity pools...
But, I do have a profit-taking strategy for my other crypto investments!

currently, i don't have any serious hive goals, but I will try to make some and achieve them in the next year.
Well, it doesn't have to be "serious" goals, but it definitely helps to have a goal in general... ;)
I'm one that usually doesn't do NY resolutions, I get in the mindset to just do it and not wait for a given time. However, the timing this year makes it convenient. Really I only have one resolution and that is to invest in myself. Invest I mean take better care of myself. I have a short list of things to take care of. They include a bum shoulder and some dental work. Also a visit to do every guy's favorite thing, a Colonoscopy. Of course there will be Hive goals but I feel they fall outside of the traditional NY resolutions.
I will have to try to make one of these shows. I can't tomorrow though. Looks like a different but better way to engage with our fellow Hive colleagues.
That's a very good resolution... When I was younger I would never thought about taking care of myself, but as time passes by, things are changing... 🙂 If we don't have about ourselves, who will?
It is a nice way to connect with other Hivians... I do record the first part of the show, but there is a lot more action in the after-show too!

Most times I usually wonder why a lot of people set new year resolutions and it seems like along the way, we can't keep up with the pace at the year
I'm not too big a fan of NY resolutions as they are usually too general, but I do like to create yearly goals as I do them more specifically...
This is very good so we will stop having newbies that run away from the platform because they don’t understand how it works

It can be a little confusing but I’ll give it a shot. You have Hive in liquid form and staked Hive as HP.
The more HP the higher your upvote. You have a percentage cap on how many upvotes you can make that are monetised per day and this amount reduces the financial amount each time you upvote. You can set another percentage of each upvote as you are upvoting. I normally keep this at 100% because I am generous and it’s only a few cents each time.
In general you want 1000HP for every US$0.01 upvote at 100% vote power and 100% vote slider.
I have over 10,000HP so my upvote is about US$0.10 at 100% vote power and 100% vote slider.
I have been here 6 years though so it can take some time to get to level.
You can still upvote 100% under the 1000HP amount and even beyond your daily cap if you just want name recognition. It’s what I did in the beginning.
Look around for communities that you enjoy. Join them, create blog posts for them, upvote people’s work even if you only have a small amount of HP. Power up as much as you can.
You can buy and sell swap tokens on Hive Engine for profit.
In general, you want to engage as much as possible.
You can make videos for 3Speak, etc.
Also, you get a curation reward for upvoting comments and posts.

Having hive goals each year is a good idea. I think I will try it out for the coming year and hope to achieve all the goals I set.
