POULTRY FARM AND WHY THE FEED QUALITY LIES SO MUCH ON THE PRICE.

I want to use this medium to greet all great Hivers. How has been your day so far, hope you are all doing good? I'm positive minded that it's all well and fine.

Basically! The price of different feeds we have in Nigeria are not the same and this lies on some facts that the quality of these feeds are different, the manufacturers are different, the proximities are different, the cost of production are different and so on. So that's why you see the prices of these feeds different from one and other.

So some of the factors that surround the differences in price of these feeds are attached to do many things. Such as....

• Difference in manufacturers. The manufacturers of these feeds are different; the producers of both Ultima feed and Newhope feed are different. The latter is produced by Olam feed mill which are basically local made feed while Newhope is produced by a Chinese agro company ( this to say that it's an imported feed or most of its materials are imported).

• Difference in proximities. This means that the producer of these feeds' closeness are different. One is home base and while the other is an Asian company. That's why most Newhope feed is always scarce unlike Ultima feed.

• The feeds content quality are different. Such that where Newhope feed uses 25% of soya beans for 25 kilogram of feed, Ultima feed might use 21%. By that means, Newhope feed has more quality than Ultima even when they used on Broiler birds and that's why Newhope feed is costlier than Ultima.

• Also, difference in cost of production. I don't know but the reason why I feel the Newhope feed is costlier than Ultima feed is that "cost of production" will be different because the percentage of content used by Newhope feed is always different from Ultima feed. Aside that, mere looking at the sacs for both products, the quality of the sac of Newhope feed has more quality than Ultima feed sac.
