POULTRY FARM AND HOW THE DEMAND DETERMINES THE PRICE OF CHICKEN SUPPLY.

I want to use this medium to greet all great Hivers. How has been your day so far, hope you are all doing good? I'm positive minded that it's all well and fine.

If you are someone who lives in Nigeria and maybe you happen to be someone who does anything related to chicken;maybe as a Farmer of Poultry farm(producer), a wholesaler,a retailer, distributor or agents you would have known how anything related to chicken work in relation to the demand, supply and price tags.

Each year, it has been a rollercoaster, a common thing that anything related to rearing of Broiler birds, marketing, chicken supply and demand, price follow the same pattern and behavior. At a point in the year, there was always low demand for dressed chicken because the supplies were much because of so much pressure on the producers. Most producers of chicken pressured or beg their customers to come and buy because there were many supplies of chicken meat in town. Meanwhile,all these tell on the price, the price was way too low despite the cost of production increasing.

But at this present moment, things have changed, I can't say maybe because people are hoarding their chicken for festive period then the pressure returned back to the customers who they now be the ones pestering the producers of chicken to sell. This really have affected the price because there is low supply and more demand. Imagine,the price of dressed chicken flied from N1,600 per kilo to N2,300. That's how the low supply have affected the price tag of chicken and this has been the rotational behavior over he years.
