Silver coin Kookaburra weighing 1 ounce. It is one of the most famous series of silver bullion coins. The first issue appeared in 1990 and production continues to this day. Every year another coin is issued and every year there is a new graphic on the reverse. The mintage is quite large as it is as high as 500,000 pieces however these coins are very popular among collectors. The oldest mint in Australia "The Perth Mint" is responsible for issuing this coin.

Co roku jest wydawana kolejna moneta i co roku pojawia się nowa grafika na rewersie. Nakład jest dość duży bo wynosi aż 500.000 sztuk jednak te monety cieszą się dużym zainteresowaniem wśród kolekcjonerów. Za emisje tej monety odpowiada najstarsza mennica w Australii "The Perth Mint".

From the beginning of the series i.e. for 33 years the reverse side features the image of a small Australian bird kookaburra. Only its position or the bird's surroundings change. Sometimes two birds are seen on the reverse as in this presented copy. The kookaburra belongs to the kingfishers and is treated with special consideration in Australia, so much so that it is considered one of the national symbols. These birds make a sound similar to human laughter, usually in the very early hours of the morning, which is why they are also called cookaburra giggles. Despite this, it is liked by humans among other things because it hunts venomous snakes.

Od początku serii, czyli od 33 lat na rewersie widnieje wizerunek małego, australijskiego ptaka kookaburry. Zmienia się jedynie jego pozycja lub otoczenie ptaka. Czasem widnieją na rewersie dwa ptaki jak w tym prezentowanym egzemplarzu. Kookaburra należy do zimorodków i jest traktowany z szczególnymi względami w Australii, do tego stopnia, że jest on uznawany za jeden z symboli narodowych. Ptaki te wydają z siebie dźwięki podobne do ludzkiego śmiechu, najczęściej o bardzo wczesnych godzinach porannych, dlatego nazywa się je również kookaburra chichotliwa. Mimo tego jest lubiana przez ludzi miedzy innymi dlatego, że poluje na jadowite węże.

Reverse

The reverse side depicts two kookaburra birds sitting on branches and looking in each other's direction. Below them are Waratah flowers, which are found mainly in southeastern Australia. Centrally above the birds is the inscription KOOKABURRA which is the name of the birds. On the other hand, on the left side are placed the numbers, which indicate the date of issue, weight and bullion test. On the opposite side is the letter "P" this is the symbol of the mint "The Perth Mint".

Rewers

Na rewersie przedstawione są dwa ptaki kookaburry siedzące na gałęziach i spoglądające w swoim kierunku. Pod nimi znajdują się kwiaty Waratah, które występują głównie w południowo-wschodniej Australii. Centralnie nad ptakami znajduje się napis KOOKABURRA czyli nazwa ptaków. Natomiast po lewej stronie umieszone są cyfry, które oznaczają datę emisji, wagę oraz próbę kruszcu. Po przeciwnej stronie widnieje litera "P" jest to symbol mennicy "The Perth Mint".

In the center of the coin is the image of Queen Elizabeth II. Above the image is her name and the issuing country. On the other hand, below the image is the denomination - $1.
