Sewing a beautiful dress for my niece for her graduation day, just to fulfill my promise to her.
Good day friends.
Happy and blessed Needleworkmonday, how are you all doing and how was your weekend, I hope and believe that everything is going very well and I wish you all a blissful and wonderful day full of happiness, joy, and good vibes, today's grace of God, I want to share with all the step by steps on how I cut and sew this beautiful dress for my niece for her graduation day, just to fulfill my promise to her.
I always keep my promise to be fulfilled, from the day I promised my niece that I would sew her a dress to wear on her Graduation day she kept it in mine, I didn't remember that I had promised her ooooh until her proprietress chose the color that they will use for the day and the color is Blue, my sister called and said that her daughter wants to talk with me, I firstly told the sister that I don't have any money they my sister asked me to hear from her first I thought that she wants to ask me for money all of the sudden she remained me of the promise and told me that the color os blue even though it is lace material or velvet but let it be blue color, I was like (hmmmmmm) no problem let me see what I can do then my sister said I should assure her so that she will no be to start, well I assured her that I will buy blie material and sew for her.
I quickly went to the market because graduation day was quite close then I had to start so I could meet in time, so went and bought this Velvet material with a stone bead design.
I wanted to make a short gown dress for her but luckily my sister called me the very day I was about to start cutting she told me that her daughter's proprietress said that all the graduates should wear long and not short, I was so happy for not cutting it at the first place because I didn't mean I cut it how would I turned it too long, I didn't have my niece long measurements but I was doing guesswork, so I clean out the chalk and started folding it by two, I took out her normal measurements and her knees measurements, I took the waist and bust measurements then I divided them by four.
After drafting the front I cut it out.
After cutting the front out I folded the material by two again I placed the front on the material then I put in 2 inches for zipper allowances.
After putting the zipper allowance I cut it out.
After finishing with the cuttings, I went ahead and turned the front and the back with lining.
I then moved on and folded the material again, I measured her half-length and shoulder and divided her shoulder by two then divided her burst and body by four after that I measured her dart for the prinçes dart and turned
After that, placed the front by fold and the material by fold, I put in 2 inches for zipper allowance then I cut it out.
Here is the front and back cutting.
After cutting I went ahead and turned them with lining.
I now joined the front and designed a trimming on it.
I also joined the back and design in trimming after that I put in a silver zip.
I joined the body and cut out the sleeves after cutting the sleeves I cut 5 inches for the sleeves hem pleat then I sewed the pleating.
Then I cut out the shoulder stand flair and I fixed it on top of the shoulder.
After that, I fixed the sleeves on the dress.
Here is the outcome of the dress
The outcome is beautiful, I thank God that the outcome wasn't bad, I used her old measurements, the half-length, and the full-length are a little bit short but not bad, I was so rushed to meet up.
Thank you all for reading through my post, Remain blessed.
