Cutting and sewing of a full flair skirt and crop top for my Niece as a new year gift.
Hello friends
Happy and blessed Thursday to you all of my colleagues in the @needleworkmonday community, how are you all doing today i hope all is well with you all and your family, on this occasion i will love to share with tou all on how i cut and sew this beautiful full flair skirt and crop top for my little Niece.
So my Niece came to visit me, since on Monday and she had only a day to spend because her school have resumed, i was thinking for what to give to her as a new year gift, so i remembered i had this Ankara fabric that i want to share with my sister, so i dicided to sew for her but she have to spend another day so i will be able to sew this fabric for her, she accepted but told me that she will be going on Wednesday which was yesterday, that was very good by me, so she gave me this style, a flair short skirt with crop top.
So i quickly brought out the Ankara fabric, i kapt this fabric for so long looking for a nice style to sew for myself and my senior sister and as we all know that a better style needs money to buy some material and i was planning to sew it this new year but as it stands now i have no choice because i don't have any other nice fabric to sew for her and i don't like give out something that is not nice or good quality, this fabric looks so beautiful.
The procedure
I started with the short flair skirt, we all know that children of now a day has choice, this my Niece like a short skirt, i folded the two down edges of the fabric by two and i fold the length together to her normal length, so i measured her full length and her waist measurement, then i cut them out.
So after cutting them out i open only one side of the flair which the open will be at the back side, i wwnt and bend the hem of the skirt.
I also cut out the waist band by 5 inches withd and 26 inches length with 2 inches zippee allowance, then i sew ot down and turned it to the right side of the fabric and double sew it down.
After finishing with the waistband i closed the open side and put in the zip.
So here is the finish work of the flair short shirt
I then moved to the crop top, i folded the fabric by two i took all the necessary measurements of the top dicided by four bit tue shoulder measurement i dicided it by two, i took the hamhold and the front neck not too wider, then i cut it out with 2 inches allowance.
After cutting out the front, i placed the front on the fabric and put in 1.5 for zipper allowance then i cut the back side out.
I actually cut out the same fabric then i used it and turned the front and back neck point.
I now went and joined the shoulder front and back together, i also joined the body to her normal body size then i put in a rainbow open zip.
After that i cut out a piff sleeves, then i used elastic thread and give out some few gathers line on the hem of the two side sleeves.
I now joined them on it particular point of the top then i give a puff on the shoulder.
Here is the outcome of the flair with crop top.
Wow, the outcome is very nice and beautiful, without going very close you will not believe it's skirt and top, my Niece was so excited, she loves the style so much, hope you likes it too.
