So HBO knows who Satoshi is, does it really matter?
The revolution
HBO has released that they are making a documentary about the inventor of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto. And they to have unmasked the identity of the pseudonym of Satoshi. But, the big question is does it matter who or what is behind Satoshi Nakamoto… A group, one person, an organisation or whatever is possible… The reality is, however who or what is behind the invention, is quite unimportant. It’s about what it has changed in the world of money and ownership.
Mix of existing technologies
What Satoshi has brought to the world is a perfect mix of existing technologies, available in 2009. On the field of cryptography, anonymous ownership, public ledger, and economy. And the most important thing about the invention is the timing. The moment of launch of the Bitcoin network was perfectly timed with the economic meltdown that had just happened in 2008. In short, a perfect storm to launch the project and make enough buzz about it!
Len Sassaman
The name that is mentioned the most is Len Sassaman, an American cryptographer that died in Belgium shortly after Satoshi disappeared from the internet in 2011. So, it could perfectly be correct. Yet, it won’t change the course of the evolution of Bitcoin. The invention has become a lot bigger than it’s original inventor…

I think Satoshi Nakamoto is an anonymous group.
I think they guessed wrong, and we'll likely never know if it was one guy or a group. Over the years there have been a lot of potentials named, but in the end it's all a guess! It was probably a smart move to stay anonymous, or some government might have tossed him or them in prison for creating a new currency...
