France's left wing, NPF calls for 90 % tax on all income above 400000 EUR!
The left won
It was in the news all over the world, a victory for the extrem right wing party Rassemblement National was avoided by a collusion of the left wing parties at the second round of the elections on last Sunday.
This way the left wing won, and among that left wing there is also a (communist?) party, the Nouveau Front Populaire, or in English, the New Popular Front. They won 26 % of the votes on Sunday, and get the most representatives in the parliament.
Lots of people had a sigh of relief after the victory of the left, but now they are talking business, and they don't beat around the bush. Today they already called for an income tax of 90 % for all incomes above 400000 EUR.
Of course this proposition has caused a lot of concern as there are hundreds of thousands of people in France with such an income. And lots of people are scared for a capital flight to neighbour countries.
Wolf in sheep's clothes
The queston rises, was the sigh of relief justified, or is the victory of the left, especially the extreme left even worse than a victory of the extreme right would have been? Is the NPF a wolf in sheep's clothing? I have big doubts about this party, and so should the French. I think a new election could be there sooner than they think...
Sincerely,

Politics I never get a hang of. These politicians can shock you anytime with their strange actions. Let some good people be in power to help the masses genuinely.

That's a very good way to make all the people who are wealthy to leave the country, leaving only the middle class and poor to pay all of the taxes.... lol
You bet, incredible how stupid these people are!
Sad thing is they might get it in place, then the economy of the country will tank and the rest of Europe will have to help them out...
🤣 This is just funny!!! What will be with the sports circus providers in this way? Especially with football players???
Fact,
But most of them live officially in Monaco, and don't pay a penny in taxes!
Well, I know Monaco is just the really rich ones European Panama, (next to Lichtenstein, Luxemburg, Gibraltar, Malta, Cyprus), but I don't think football players can pay taxes after their foreign earnt salary there. I know, athletes can, who have competitions all around the world, for example tennis players.
Just read about it a bit, and still not 100% sure, but looks like, they can't. So over $1M income, they already pay 75% income tax. That other 5% is not a big thing, but lowering that limit to $400k is a big one. Expect even more French players abroad, I suppose, many players earn more than $400k.
At least, now I understand why French football players going everywhere else, and mostly replaced by balkan, african players. Because of tax. (Strangly, not in news when they talk about big transfers, reason behind it, when in reality this is no1.)
It's 'just' 40-45% in spain, england, some places in mid, eastern europe, it's even much less.
