DIY steps on how to cut a male trouser
Hello guy's
Welcome to my blog, how are you all doing? i hope you all are doing amazing and has for me i am doing good. Today i want to share with you guys a little secret on how to sew a male trouser, this post will really help you much if you follow me because i will tell you some things you need to do, to make you trouser outfits look amazing.
You know has a tailor cutting matters alot, the way you cut is the way they results come out.
To make a perfect cutting when cutting a trouser the are some important measurements you need to take has a learner's. Because most of us predict some measurements and at the end we don't get what we want.
Measurements needed to be taken
Full length | 37 |
---|---|
Waist | 34 |
Lap | 24 |
Hip | 38 |
Aim | 11 |
Waist to kneel | 20 |
Kneel round | 16 |
Material needed
- new fabric
- long ruler
- chalk
- sewing tape
- scissors etc
Here is the material
Let look at this little calculation before we start
Waist - 34/4 + 1/2 = 9
Lap - 24/2 = 12
Hip - 38/4 = 9.5
Length - 37+2.5 = 39.5
Haim - 11/2 = 5.5
Those are the little calculation you need to know.
Let get to work
First and foremost all you need to do is to fold you material into two, making sure the front face each other. Then draw a straight line to get a straight edge.
At the edge mark out the waist measurement 9 inches and then mark out half from the start of the fabric.
From the waist ie the top edge line of the fabric mark out the hip measurement 9.5 some people use the was measurement to get the hip line but some times it do fail. And then connect the lines
Then mark out 2 inches upward from the hip line for the crutch curve.
The next thing to do is to achieve our crush extension. To get that, on the hip line, measure out lap measurement ie 12 inches then pulse half inches to get 12.5 inches.
Then make a smooth curve from that 12.5 upward to meet the 2inches you draw up to get your crush curve.
Next thing to do is to mark out your kneel length and full length. Note ; the 2.5inches added at the full length is for folding allowance. Ie 20 inches for kneel and 39.5 for the full length, both from the waist.
So sorry for the invisible of the marking, this is because of thw type of material used. The camara cannot capture it well.
To get the center line, measure the hip line including the crust extension then divide it by 2. That give us 6.25 inches, then Mark it at the kneel area and the leg area from the adge of the fabric to get the center line, the draw a straight line from the hip line to the leg to get the center line.
After that make a curve from the leg to the hip line and also from the waist to the hip line to to have your trouser shape.
Then at the other side, mark out the knee circumstances, draw a straight line from the leg to the knee point and also a straight line from the crushs extension to the knee.
Then i cut it out following the line.
Here is the out come which is the front cut.
The back cut
Allowance is also put at the back. To get the back cutting, turn the front upside down at were u cut it out.
Aline it well
Cut out the excess at the front, the excess will be using for zip cover.
The shift in 2inches at the leg and 2.5 inches at the crush area.
At the waist mark out inches and then connect a straight line to the crush curve.
Remember we slop the waist by 1inches, therefore on the line mark out 2.5 inches then connect it to the waist. Also continue the hip line on the back .
make a curve on the line to the hip line to get the back crush curve.
Finally cut it out and here is what we have for the back and front.
