Cutting and sewing of a free gown for myself

Hello beloved hivers.

Happy blessed monday, how was your weekend, hope we all had a peaceful one.
Today i want to share with you all on how i made this beautiful free gown for myself.

It been a month or two since i made myself a simple outfit, one week ago one of our neighbor had a traditional marriage, so he came up with this beautiful ankara fabric for his traditional marriage uniform, it was about two fabric, so he he kept this one only for this our area, while the other one is for all his family, i love this fabric because of the blue color and it's my favorite color, due to the majority of people that bought the uniform, almost everybody in this area, so i decided to sew a simple free gown which will be so easy for me to wear each time i want to.

I want to show you all the step by step on how i cut and sew it, i really love this #needleworkmonday community because i learn more about cutting and sewing even crocheting work, every handmade, I'm really proud of this community.

Cutting and sewing procedure

I started by folding the fabric into two, i measured out my shoulder and i take the ham hold length from the shoulder down to 8inches, and i measured form the shoulder to my half length and from the half length to my full length, i want it to be a little bit shape because there will be a zip at the back side, so it will be easier for me to breastfeed my baby, after taking the full length i divide my burst and my body by two plus 2 inches allowance, then i follow up with the allowance to free the down part.

Here is the fabric

After drafting

After cutting out

After finishing with the front, i folded the fabric again into two, i placed the front on it, after putting 2 inches for zipper allowance, i placed it on top of the fabric, i measured the necklace line because i didn't want the front and back necklace line to be the same length, only the same width will be, after cutting the necklace line i cut the whole body out.

After placing the front on it

After cutting out the back

After finishing with cutting, i went ahead to join the back and put a zip on it, after putting the zip, i joined the bodies together, then i put in the two side pocket and i used a blue bias to turn the necklace line and the hamhold, after that i bend the hem and the free gown is now ready to wear.

Here is the blue bias

The back with zip

Here is the outcome of it

It didn't take so long to finish it, the outfit is so simple, so beautiful and so easy to wear, i always like a sleeveless outfit because now the weather is too hot and is not that stressful, i believe you like it too.

Thank you so much for reading through, remain bless
