World Animal Day + Día Mundial de los Animales [Eng+Spa]
The day is ending Wednesday. We have had an interesting day, to put it kindly, it happens that today is a stormy day that in #Venezuela we usually call 'Cordonazo de San Francisco' (San Francisco Cordon Scourge), that is from the tradition of the Catholic calendar, and the recurrence of a strong electrical storm that usually occurs on these dates, which is when we are in the #Rainy season in the tropics.
Perhaps due to the same relationship with the calendar and the anniversaries of #History, today, October 4, was chosen as the day to celebrate 'World Animal Day'.

Está terminando el día miércoles. Hemos tenido un día interesante, por decirlo de manera amable, sucede que hoy es un día de tormenta que en #Venezuela solemos llamar ‘Cordonazo de San Francisco', eso es a partir de la tradición del calendario católico, y la recurrencia de una fuerte tormenta eléctrica que suele ocurrir en estas fechas, que es cuando estamos en la temporada de #Lluvias en el trópico.
Quizás por la misma relación con el calendario y las efemérides de la #Historia es que hoy, 4 de octubre, se escogió como día de celebración del ‘Día Mundial de los Animales’.

In the Christian Catholic tradition, Saint Francis of Assisi is a very striking and interesting character, he was a lover of animals and a defender of the life of all creatures. I suppose it is something that some Buddhist friends would be delighted with, anyway, that this man from the European Middle Ages was canonized as Sato, Patron of Animals... So, the relationship between one thing and another is obvious.
I like animals in general, perhaps because they seem less complicated to me than humans, even though it is my own species... or rather, because it is my species (and I know how complicated I can be) I understand that other humans can be even more complicated than me, so dealing with animals is more comfortable for me, most of the time.

En la tradición católica cristiana, San Francisco de Asís es un personaje muy llamativo e interesante, fue un amante de los animales y un defensor de la vida de todas las criaturas. Supongo que es algo en lo que algunos amigos budistas estarían encantados, en fin, que este hombre del medioevo europeo fue canonizado como Sato Patrono de los Animales… Así que la relación entre una cosa y otra es obvia.
Me gustan en general los animales, quizás porque me parecen menos complicados que los humanos, a pesar de que es mi propia especie… o más bien, debido a que es mi especie (y sé lo complicado que yo puedo ser) es que entiendo que otros humanos pueden ser incluso más complicados que yo, así que tratar con animales me resulta más cómodo, la mayoría de las veces.

Well, I must say that, as part of the secular celebration of the day, I took care of the house pets, Vero (cat) and Novata (dog), and I had to dry their fur after the heavy rain, because they got wet with all their pleasure. Drying Vero wasn't complicated, but chasing Novata with a towel to dry her reminded me of how lively and full of energy this #animal is.
Outside these simple things, there is nothing more to tell about my #life today, so I can say that, among all things, it has been a good day. I say goodbye, hoping that you are well and that we can read again another time.

Bueno, debo decir que, como parte de la celebración laica del día, cuidé de las mascotas de la casa, Vero (gato) y Novata (perro), y me tocó secarles el pelaje después de la fuerte lluvia, porque les dio por mojarse con todo gusto. Secar a Vero no fue complicado, pero perseguir a Novata con una toalla para secarla me ha hecho recordar lo animada y llena de energía que es este #animal.
Fuera de estas cosas sencillas, no hay nada más que contar de mi #vida el día de hoy, así que puedo decir que, entre todas las cosas, ha sido un buen día. Ya me despido deseado que tú estés bien y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.
