[Eng+Spa] Hawaiian Shirt Day + Día de la Camisa Hawaiana

Friday. We finished the work week, I was distracted by several things and I hardly have time to write the record of the day, but I suppose I can indulge myself in being brief, because in reality, nothing interesting has happened in my personal #life, so I would focus on commenting on an ephemeris of the day that I chose to review the #History of the date a bit. I guess it's a way to distract my mind from the fact that this week I didn't manage to get the internet service installed that I've been waiting for quite some time.

Today is 'Hawaiian Shirt Day', or also 'Aloha Shirt Day' as it is also known as Hawaii's main textile export.

Viernes.

The day has a bit to do with the origin of the shirt, but when I reviewed a bit about how this colorful piece of #clothing came about, I came across a story of conflict between two groups, one of Chinese descent and the other of Chinese descent. Japanese, who in the 30s of the 20th century, designed and popularized a type of #shirt that was inspired by the shirts of the workers, the tradition of fabric printing, and the cultural environment of the islands that make up this state of North American.

Well, at that time, I think it wasn't a State of the Union yet, but I'm counting the matter from my present time. Let's get back to the shirt thing. The creation of this colorful shirt is disputed by two people, by Honolulu tailor Kichiro Miyamoto, and by Ellery Chun (22 years old at the time), who had recently graduated and returned to Honolulu to work in the clothing business of his father, a nut stall, but he later turned it into his own business, 'King-Smith Clothiers', a company with which he registered the design of the shirt and the brand 'Aloha Shirts'.

If we start from the documents, it seems that Chun has the record of his creation, but it happens that Miyamoto assured that long before, he was making shirts of this style using the fabric leftovers from the making of Kimonos. So, there was a conflict to see who was the inventor of this shirt that today is very identified with vacations, the beach, rest, although it was also associated at the end of the last century with old age and retirement, as well that the popularity of the shirt suffered a lot and moved away from the #Fashion trend.

The popularity of the shirt is inextricably related to its use in #cinema wardrobe, which begins with the Elvis Presley film (1961) 'Blue Hawaii', and goes a long way, also among singers, #TV actors and politicians. Among the list of great figures who have been portrayed with this garment we have people like Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, President Harry S. Truman, Leonardo DiCaprio, among many famous names to add to the list, too many to point out in a brief review.

Well, I guess I don't have much more to say. Perhaps I should ask you if you have one of these shirts (personal smile), despite the fact that on many occasions it is pointed out as a garment in bad taste. In my case, if I have had several of these shirts and I like them, but I understand that you have to use them in the right situations. I say goodbye, wishing you that you are well and that we can read each other again another time.

The truth is that I have never had one, but I love to see it on other people who use them, because they are very striking for their bright colors.
I hope you enjoy your new internet connection and don't have too many problems with it.

(Edited)

Thanks, I've had a couple of these shirts, they're pretty flashy and have to be worn on certain occasions 😅, not all the time, but I remember they're really cool and nice shirts.

Now that the company's installers have finally installed the Internet service in my house, I am very happy, I have a lot of work to do, and I hope that everything will improve from now on.
