Akwabaa my highly esteemed hivers, it's a pleasure to be here. You'll might be wondering who this is as she's never been here. Well, that's true, while exploring communities on Hive, I stumbled upon @hiveghana, went through the niches and the weekly contest amused me a lot. I'm right here on time to participate, I found a topic very appealing to me and I've decided to write on it, stay tuned

Boredom as an enemy

At certain points in my life, I've felt intense boredom and I'm sure everyone does, I just find myself sulking, losing interest and concern. This feeling of restlessness, tediousness, flatness and dullness makes me feel frustrated, I mean it's super annoying that this feeling coupled with its counterparts lingers on and this at times makes me aggressive a d at some point I tend to extend the anger to anyone/thing within sight, so bad.

Well, I'll attribute my feeling of boredom to excessive stress due to lack of choice and control over my activities. I'm one who tries to balance up everything within a short time frame which has led to multitasking and of course it freaks me out alot. At first, it might all seem smooth but it hooks me on the neck after a while. Lots of school activities, home chores, financial worries, obligations and the likes of it makes me unable to focus my attention thus overstimulating my circumstance

Boredom makes me feel hopeless and worthless at times but I've learnt to fight it with vigour, I mean I can't just sit and watch this enemy eat deep into me. When overwhelmed by boredom, I take drastic steps such as:

  • Trying out new things /doing things I love most: When boredom comes, I kick it off by trying out new things that may seem weird but interesting, I venture into taking certain risks which usually pays off positively. I also engage in activities that interest me, things I love doing which brings me inner peace and satisfaction. Activities like cycling, seeing movies, having a stroll round my neighbourhood etc. When feeling of boredom entangle me, I try at this point to avoid being lonely by associating with loved ones. My siblings are awesome creatures, although annoying, they endeavor to spice up my life and this helps greatly.

cycling to kill boredom

  • I also endeavor to get enough rest: at this point, I try to get a maximum of 8 hours sleep, I rest alot, drink much water and try to eat appetizing meals. Outdoor recreation helps a lot too

Conclusion

We should never let boredom influence our lives, giving it a space to crawl in can only make matters worse. What more could we do than fight it endlessly, our ability to wrestle with it and never tiring out or giving up will crush this enemy therefore keeping it far off from us
