AVOID HOME ACCIDENTS THIS SEASON

Hi lovers, how's your day going? Just a few reminder as you enjoy the rest of your day.

We all like to feel safe in our homes, but unfortunately accidents do happen. Accident are common in homes. Young children often get into one trouble or the other. They love playing a great deal and during these plays, they sometimes get into trouble. Infants who are still crawling often get into trouble more than older children. This is common when the adults around are not watchful.

Home accidents include falling down on the floor when it's wet or slippery. When a child is running about, he could run into a chair or table and fall down heavily and may injure herself/himself.

MOTHERS BE CAREFUL
Put all your harmful household stuffs in a locked cabinet/cupboard if you’ve got small children in the house. Don’t forget to hide dishwasher soap pods—they look quite inviting to curious children.
Keep a close eye on the kids while you’re using any household cleansers and don't leave your children unattended while you go to answer the door or answer a phone call.

Never leave frying items unattended. Keep matches and lighters away so children can’t reach them. Turn off your gas cylinder after cooking. Keep pot handles turned in when cooking. There's so many stories of children who have pulled down pots of boiling water on themselves, causing serious life threatening burns, even death.

Discard old worn out extension cords. Cover electrical outlets when you have small children in the home. Keep electrical appliances away from water or wet hands. When going out off all electrical appliances. Don't do anything that might cause serious problem in your home. Don’t leave a sharp knife lying in a sink. Wash it IMMEDIATELY after usage and put it away. As we age, the chances of injuring ourselves in a fall increases tremendously. According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, more than half of all injuries among Canadians 65 years and over are due to falls. One-third of Canadian seniors will fall once each year, and half will fall more than once. Among seniors, 20% of deaths related to injury are as a result of a fall.

From this short story, let's be careful to avoid indirectly causing harm to our kids or ourselves this festive season. In summary, put away any object - knife, electrical stove, electric boiler, even razor, etc that can cause us harm. Enjoy the rest of your day.
