MY APPOLLO EXPERIENCE

avatar

Apollo which is also called conjunctivitis is an eye infection which is caused by a virus or bacteria. When I was little, there was a myth about Apollo that we believed in as children growing up, there is this light something that looks like a feather that we sometimes see when there is a strong breeze flying through the air we believed then that if you have an eye contact with it you will contact Apollo. I guess most of us have heard about it especially if you grew up in the village. I knew it wasn't true because I never got Apollo even when I had direct eye contact with the feather-like thing.

The symptoms of Apollo may vary from mild to severe. In most cases, the patients experience watery, sticky discharge, glued eyelids, and red eyes, and may sometimes be sensitive to light. It sometimes starts from one eye and then transfers to the next.

When I was younger, I had Apollo which made me feel very uncomfortable. I was always rubbing my eyes because of sticky eyes and when I slept at night, opening my eyes became a problem in the morning because they would be glued together. It was really difficult because of the redness, swelling and as if sand was in my eyes.

My neighbors were giving my mum different suggestions on how to go about the treatment. One said I should mix sugar and water and drop it in my eyes would be bright the next day and another was like I should look for a breastfeeding mother and put the breast milk in my eyes that it was all I needed for the treatment of my Apollo. I didn't agree to such a weird treatment my mum had to take me to an eye clinic where they gave me eye drops and drugs and that was what I used for my Apollo and it disappeared.

When someone is having an Apollo, he or she should seek medical attention instead of putting different stuff in the eyes. An eye drop would do the magic though, I have never heard about any severe case in which eye drops didn't work. Seeking medical attention quickly can minimize the risk of complications though I have seen cases of Apollo cleared without any medication.

😂😂 it’s always the neighbors who bring us remedies like they’re some doctors.
Most people do not seek medical attention when the have appolo but rather just wait for it to go while others also get infected.
Thanks for sharing with us.

😂😂
Those neighbors have degrees in home remedies. They just kept on bringing one remedy or the other.
Thanks for stopping by.

Every neighbor is a doctor one way or the other😂.
Same as you, I heard it was because of that tiny feathery thing that used to fly in the air that causes Apollo😂, but that didn't stop me from playing with it.
I've never had Apollo before but most persons I've seen with it, usually use eye drops to treat it.
