The Black Sea's wild waves were turning the calm sea into a hurricane, turning the boats waiting in the small harbor one by one. The force of the wind was even straining the leaves trying to hold on to the branches of the trees. A few of the street lights that made the city bright were out. The sound of water droplets falling on the roofs of the houses covered with red tiles could be heard from the living room. Here I was, opening my eyes to the world on such a day.

I feel the longing for my hometown more during the summer months. I especially missed walking around the small, narrow and colorful streets of Amasra, where I was born, in the evenings. I used to enjoy swimming in the sea on its beaches, walking around its magnificent castles and touring its ports. But there is one place where you are completely mesmerized. Here, you literally get lost in the natural beauty on a hilltop that takes your soul to heaven. I see this place as the golden eye of Amasra. Let me take you to this hilltop they call Boztepe.

Amasra, perhaps one of the most beautiful tourism places in the Western Black Sea Region, is built on a small land and looks like a fishing town. Boztepe is a high slope on an island that overlooks the city's peninsula, three different bays and the sparkling sea. It is one of the most beautiful points where you can watch this beautiful and charming district. Boztepe is located at the top of the round island that hosts the uniquely beautiful views of Amasra. There is a lighthouse right at the entrance of the island. Next to it is a plane tree called the Weeping Tree that has defied time. There is a small business next to the plane tree. From here, you can see the sea and the Rabbit Island standing opposite.

It is quite easy to get here. You can get there from every province of Turkey. Those who want to come from Istanbul can easily come to Amasra by bus, which will take about 6 hours. Those coming from our capital Ankara can reach Amasra by passing through Bolu, Zonguldak and Bartın provinces. This journey takes about 4 hours. During your trip, you can see many luxurious fish restaurants on the coast. If you are someone like me who loves seafood, when you come to Amasra, you can eat delicious fish at tables set up by the sea at Mustafa Amca's. You won't see many luxurious hotels here. There are mostly boutique-style guesthouses in the city. Also, the people of Amasra earn their living by hosting foreign tourists in their own homes.

You can see the sea clearly from every side of Boztepe Island. You have the chance to see the coastlines, which they call the big harbor and the small harbor, very clearly from here. The shore of the big harbor is covered with large stones. There is a flat and long road made of wide stones that you can go to the end of the harbor.

As you circle the island and look at the city, you see a different beauty emerging from every corner. The sparkle of the sea shining through the lush bushes and grasses instills peace in your heart. You will experience the feeling of living in those beautiful two-story or three-story houses that look tiny from the top.

The most beautiful part of Boztepe Island is the sea during the day enjoy it, and at the end of the day, go up to the top and watch the sunset with its unique beauty. You can't get enough of looking at the sky painted in infrared. You can come to this beautiful island just to enjoy this view that turns the clouds into a fiery fire.

When you look from the top, you can see that the city has hosted many civilizations, from old building stones and the sea shore You can notice it from the Amasra Castle. Boztepe Island is one of the most suitable spots to get to know Amasra closely and discover its natural beauties.

Old structures that left traces from the Ottoman and Roman periods You can see it on the seashore, among the houses and in the narrow streets. Even the famous Kemere Bridge, which is thought to have remained from the Roman period and is made of round arches and a single-eyed stone arch, connects the city of Amasra with Boztepe Island.

Karadeniz'in hırçın dalgaları, sakin duran denizi, bir kasırgaya dönüştürürken, küçük limanda bekleyen kayıkları bir bir, döndürüyordu. Burada ruhunuzu cennete taşıyan bir tepe noktasında, doğal güzelliklerin içinde resmen kayboluyorsunuz. Ben burayı Amasra'nın altın gözü olarak görüyorum. Boztepe adını verdikleri bu tepe noktasına sizleri de götüreyim.

Batı Karadeniz Bölgesinin belki de en güzel turizm yerlerinden biri olan Amasra, küçük bir arazi üzerinde kurulu, balıkçı kasabası görünümdedir. Boztepe, ise şehrin yarımadasını, üç farklı koyunu ve pırıltılı denizini tepeden gören, bir adanın üstündeki yüksek bir yamaçtır. Bu güzel şirin ilçeyi izleyebileceğiniz en güzel noktalardan biridir. Boztepe, Amasra'nın eşsiz güzellikteki manzaralarına ev sahipliği yapan yuvarlak görünümlü adanın en tepesinde bulunur. Adanın hemen girişinde bir deniz feneri vardır. Onun yanında da Ağlayan ağaç adını verdikleri ve zamana meydan okuyan bir çınar ağacı bulunur. Çınar ağacının yanında küçük bir işletme var. Buradan denizi ve karşısında duran tavşan adasını görebilirsiniz.

Buraya gelmeniz oldukça basit. Türkiye'nin her ilinden ulaşım sağlayabilirsiniz. İstanbul'dan gelmek isteyenler, yaklaşık 6 saat sürecek olan otobüs yolculuğuyla Amasra'ya rahatlıkla gelebilirler. Başkentimiz Ankara'dan gelecek olanlar ise, Bolu, Zonguldak ve Bartın ilini geçerek Amasra'ya ulaşabilirler. Bu yolculuk da yaklaşık, 4 saat sürmektedir. Geziniz boyunca, sahil kenarlarında birçok lüks balık restoranlarını görebilirsiniz. Eğer benim gibi deniz ürünlerini seven biriyseniz, Amasra' ya geldiğinizde, Mustafa Amca'nın yerinde deniz kenarına kurulan masalarda, lezzetli balıklardan yiyebilirsiniz. Burada çok fazla lüks otelleri göremezsiniz. Daha çok şehrin içinde butik tarzında pansiyonlar vardır. Bir de Amasra halkı kendi evlerini yabancı turistlere konaklayarak geçim kaynağı sağlamaktadırlar.

Boztepe adasının her tarafından denizi net bir şekilde görebilirsiniz. Büyük liman ve küçük liman adını verdikleri sahil kenarlarını buradan çok net görme şansınız vardır. Büyük limanın kıyısı büyük taşlarla örtülüdür. Limanın sonuna kadar gidebileceğiniz geniş taştan düz ve uzun bir yol bulunur.

Adanın etrafında dönerken ve şehre bakarken her bir köşeden ayrı bir güzellik çıktığını görürsünüz. Yemyeşil çalı ve otların arasından parlayan denizin ışıltısı, yüreğinize buram buram huzuru aşılar. Tepeden küçücük görünen o güzelim iki katlı üç katlı evlerde oturma hissini yaşarsınız.

Boztepe Adasının en güzel tarafı, gündüz denizin keyfini çıkarıp, günün sonunda, tepeye çıkarak, eşsiz güzellikteki, gün batımını izlemek oluyor. Kızılötesine boyanan gökyüzüne bakmaya doyamıyorsunuz. Bulutları, sanki kızgın bir ateşe dönüştüren bu manzaranın tadını çıkarmak için bile, bu güzel adaya gelebilirsiniz.

Bir de tepeden baktığınızda, şehrin bir çok medeniyetlere ev sahipliği yaptığını eski yapı taşlardan ve denizin kıyısına kurulan Amasra Kalesinden fark edebilirsiniz. Boztepe Adası, Amasra'yı yakından tanımak ve doğal güzelliklerini keşfetmek için en uygun noktalardan biridir.

Osmanlı ve Roma dönemlerinden izler bırakan eski yapıları denizin kıyısında, evlerin arasında ve sokakların dar yollarında görebilirsiniz. Hatta Roma döneminden kaldığı düşünülen, yuvarlak kemerli ve tek gözlü taş kemerden yapılmış olan meşhur Kemere Köprüsü, Amasra şehrini, Boztepe Adasıyla birbirine bağlamaktadır.

Yılın her mevsimi gelebileceğiniz, Amasra ve Boztepe Adasında, havanın koşullarına göre, eğlenebileceğiniz bir çok aktiviteler gerçekleştirebilirsiniz. Yat gezisi, doğa yürüyüşü, kamp heyecanı gibi...Bir de Boztepe Adasında tepeden güneşin doğuşunu ve batışını izlemenin keyfini çıkarabilirsiniz.
