Hello Dear Travelers,

I visited most of the caves in the Mediterranean Region of Turkey. I must admit, one of the caves that excited and intrigued me the most was Dim Cave. I would love for you to see the cave, which stands out with its natural formations among the beauties the earth offers us.

To come to the cave, you need to come to Alanya district of Antalya. Buses depart from the city center to the cave, which is approximately 15 minutes away from Alanya city center by car. During this journey, you may also have the chance to discover lush green lands, high mountains, and time-defying tree species lined up one after the other.

After reaching the cave and parking our vehicle in a suitable place, we proceed up the high stone stairs to reach the toll booth and the cave. They have determined their working hours as between 09.00 and 19.00. The last visitor entry time is 18.30.

After climbing the stairs, an observation terrace area has been created. The view around from here looks amazing. You can spend some time here and enjoy the lush green mountains, the unique beauty of Alanya Dim Stream from a bird's eye view, and the abundant greenery. Right next to the observation deck, there is a nice establishment where you can sip coffee while looking at the view.

To reach the cave at the end of the stairs, we pass through a straight path paved with smoothly processed red stones and with black iron guards on the sides. Just to the right of the road, there is the two-storey cave management office, which resembles egg yolk paint, and a shop selling souvenirs underneath it.

On this road we walk, I see various gifts, magnets, carpets, clothes and bags with different patterns being sold. In fact, we do not forget to drink water from the fountain called Gürdalı Fountain, which is known as healing water. There is a box office just ahead. Entrance to the cave is paid, and we pay 150 Turkish Liras as an entrance fee per person. Dim Cave is located on a high hill, looking like a void formed inside the mountain.

We enter through the door of the arch-shaped cave made of black iron with Dim Cave 1999 written on it.

It looks a little dark inside the cave. There are stony stairs leading down to the bottom. You have to bend down when landing. Again, as in every cave, they used lighting here too. They hung some warning signs on the walls of the cave for our own safety. The inside of the cave is quite humid, and as you progress, the air temperature decreases. I must admit, as you descend towards the bottom, a chilling atmosphere emerges.

As we progress inside the cave, we see that there are small pools. There are shapes hanging on the walls of the cave, reminiscent of people, animals and different objects. The surfaces of these stalactite walls are slippery and many appear curved. These stalactite walls look very ornate and magnificent, bringing to mind the house curtain, pasta and curved snake surfaces. There are quite a few of these around.

In order for you to easily explore the inside of the cave, there are passage points with stairs that allow two people to pass comfortably. The reflection of the lighting on the stalactites hanging on the wall dazzles our eyes. There are large areas at the end of the stairs. You can take a breath and rest here. When you look at the floor of some areas of the cave, you seem to see colorful clouds. I compared them to the Pamukkale travertines of our Denizli province.

You can visit the inside of the cave from two separate branches. One is shorter than the other. When you walk along the long branch, at the end, there is a small lake. The stalactites and stalagmites on the walls are arranged in different sizes and lengths and spread around. As you look around the cave, you think you are in a mysterious movie. It's like an adventurous and fantastic journey... Some pictures may not be clearly understood. This is due to the atmosphere of the cave.

The shapes that intrigued me the most were the naturally occurring stalactites that were curved and looked as if they would suddenly come to life if I touched them. They also look very mysterious with the reflected light.

It is estimated that the cave we visited has been here since ancient times. Even though the path is a bit difficult, I think it is one of the places worth seeing. Every time I took a step, I discovered that there was something about it that fascinated me. At the exit of the cave, do not forget to pose in the magnificent view of the Alanya Dim Stream valley from the high hill. Thank you for accompanying me here. Türkiye'nin Akdeniz Bölgesinde, yer alan çoğu mağaraları gezdim. İtiraf edeyim beni, en çok heyecanlandıran ve merak uyandıran mağaralardan biri Dim Mağarası oldu. Yeryüzünün, bize sunduğu güzellikler arasında bu doğal oluşumlarıyla dikkat çeken mağarayı sizlerin de görmesini çok isterim.

Mağaraya gelebilmek için, Antalya'nın Alanya ilçesine gelmeniz gerekiyor. Alanya şehir merkezine aracınızla yaklaşık 15 dakika uzaklıkta olan mağaraya, şehir merkezinden de otobüsler kalkıyor. Bu yolculuk esnasında, yemyeşil toprakları, yüksek dağları , birbiri ardına sıralanmış ve zamana meydan okuyan ağaç türlerini de keşfetme şansını elde edebilirsiniz.

Mağaraya ulaşıp, aracımızı uygun yere park ettikten sonra, gişeye ve mağaraya ulaşmak için, yüksek taşlı merdivenlerden çıkarak ilerliyoruz. Çalışma saatlerini 09.00 ile 19.00 saat arası olarak belirlemişler. Son ziyaretçi giriş saati de 18.30'dur.

Merdivenleri çıktıktan sonra, bir seyir terası alanı oluşturulmuş. Buradan etraftaki manzara muhteşem görünüyor. Burada biraz zaman geçirip, yemyeşil dağlar, kuşbakışı Alanya Dim Çayının eşsiz güzelliğini ve yeşilliğin bol olduğu manzaranın tadını çıkarabilirsiniz. Seyir terasının hemen yanında manzaraya karşı kahve yudumlayacağınız güzel bir işletme bulunuyor.

Merdivenlerin sonunda mağaraya gelmek için, düzgün işlenmiş kırmızı taşlarla döşenmiş, yanlarında siyah demir korumalıkları olan düz bir yoldan geçiyoruz. Yolun hemen sağında, yumurta sarısı boyasını andıran iki katlı mağara işletme müdürlüğü ve onun altında da hediyelik eşyalar satan dükkan bulunuyor.

Yürüdüğümüz bu yolda, çeşitli hediyeler, mağnetler, halılar, kıyafetler ve farklı desenlerden oluşmuş çantaların satıldığını görüyorum. Hatta Gürdalı Çeşmesi adını verdikleri şifalı su olarak anılan çeşmeden su içmeyi de ihmal etmiyoruz. Az ileride de gişe yer alıyor. Mağaraya girişler ücretli olup, kişi başı giriş ücreti olarak 150 Türk Lirası ödüyoruz. Dim Mağarası, yüksek bir tepede konumlandırılmış, sanki dağın içinde oluşmuş bir boşluk görünümde duruyor.

Üzerinde Dim Mağarası 1999 yazılı siyah demirden yapılmış kemer şeklindeki mağaranın kapısından içeriye giriyoruz.

Mağaranın içi biraz karanlık görünüyor. Dibe doğru inen taşlı merdivenler var. İnerken eğilmeniz gerekiyor. Yine her mağarada olduğu gibi burada da ışıklandırma yapmışlar. Mağaranın duvarlarına kendi güvenliğimiz için bazı uyarı levhaları asmışlar. Mağaranın içi oldukça nemli, ilerledikçe hava sıcaklığı düşüyor. Kabul edeyim, dibe doğru indikçe, insanın içini ürperten bir hava oluşuyor.

Mağaranın içinde ilerledikçe, küçük küçük havuzların olduğunu görüyoruz. Mağaranın duvarlarına sarkan, insan, hayvan ve farklı nesneleri anımsatan şekiller var. Bu sarkıt duvarların yüzeyleri kaygan ve çoğu kıvrımlı duruyor. Ev perdesini, makarnayı ve kıvrımlı yılan yüzeylerini akla getiren bu sarkıt duvarlar, çok süslü ve ihtişamlı görünüyor. Etrafta bunlardan oldukça fazla var.

Mağaranın içini rahat gezebilmeniz için, merdivenli korunaklı iki kişinin rahat geçebileceği şekilde geçiş noktaları var. Işıklandırmaların duvarda asılı sarkıtlara olan yansıması gözlerimizi kamaştırıyor. Merdiven sonlarında geniş alanlar var. Burada biraz soluklanıp, dinlenebiliyorsunuz. Mağaranın bazı alanlarında tabanına baktığınızda, bulutların renkli hallerini görür gibi oluyorsunuz. Ben bunları Denizli ilimizin Pamukkale travertenlerine benzettim.

Mağaranın içini, iki ayrı koldan gezebilirsiniz. Biri diğeri göre, daha kısadır. Uzun olan koldan yürüdüğünüzde, sonunda, küçük bir göl var. Duvarlardaki sarkıt ve dikitlerin boyları ve uzunlukları farklı farklı şekilde dizilmiş ve etrafa yayılmış. Mağaranın etrafına baktıkça, esrarengiz bir filmin içinde yer aldığınızı düşünüyorsunuz. Maceralı ve fantastik bir yolculuk gibi... Bazı resimler tam net anlaşılamıyor olabilir. Bu mağaranın atmosferinden kaynaklanıyor.

Benden en çok merak uyandıran şekiller, kıvrımlı ve sanki dokunursam bir anda canlanacak gibi duran doğal oluşumlu sarkıtlar oldu. Bir de yansıyan ışıkla birlikte çok esrarengiz duruyorlar.

Bu gezdiğimiz mağaranın, çok eski zamandan beri burada olduğu tahmin ediliyor. Yolu biraz zahmetli olsa da görülmesi gereken yerlerden biri olduğunu düşünüyorum. Her adım attığımda, beni büyüleyen bir tarafı olduğunu keşfettim. Mağara çıkısında, Alanya Dim Çayı vadisinin yüksek tepeden görünen o muhteşem manzarasında poz vermeyi sakin unutmayın.
