The calm after the storm?

Changes come when you least expect them sometimes, and although the first impression might be that of chaos, after the dust settles, you start to realise that maybe some things come for the best.

That, or my usual optimistic approach to life kicks in. And since I'll have to deal with some of those changes in the near future ... this week of vacations came in handy!

I wanted to visit a country I had never visited before this year, but since it still wasn't possible, my neighbour Spain will do just fine. Decided to revisit a nature area I visited a long time ago, and to make a small detour in another area that deserved a visit: Galicia!

Galicia, just north of Portugal, shares a ton of similarities with my country, and has a beautiful wild coast as well. These two photos are from a very nice surf beach called Doņiños, and although the sea wss rough, the water was warmer than what I had expected!

I'll only be spending a couple of nights here, but the views and the food are enough to get that relaxation feeling that comes with vacations in good company.

From the small nature trails scattered around the coastline...

... from the wild beaches surrounded by the typical mediterranean flora, that seem to appear everywhere...

... it's impossible not to enjoy this part of the country.

There are also some pilgrimage sites among all this nature. San Andres de Teixido is one of them, one that exists for centuries.

Says the legend that if you don't visit the sanctuary in life, you'll do so in death: so it's pleded to the visitors not to harm any living being in the vicinities, no matter how small, since it can harbour the soul of a pilgrimage that came in that form to visit.

Even Ferrol, our base for the visit, has some nice views, from the plaza de Armas, to the humour in the street names.

For those wondering, magdalena is the name of the cake portrayed above the street's name, so someone thought it was a good idea to illustrate the street's name with the cake with the dame name; and I thought it was a great idea as well! 🙂

Tomorrow I'll head to my main destination, and although I won't promisse to post about it right away, given that some time off from the world wide web is also needed... I'll be sure to let you know where I'll be!

Have a great week!

Galicia has great spots... and incredible food. I hope you don't skip the traditional Pulpo à Feira. If you're near Melide, don't hesitate and go to Pulperia A Garnacha, ask for a plate and you won't regret it! 😋

Good morning, Moçoilo!

What a great update about your more then deserved vacations! I had an invitation from charlidom1971 (noisecash) to visit him, but I haven't been there yet... Nature and gastronomy is always a common theme in Galicia and the Northern part of "our" beloved Portugal indeed! Ahahah

I liked so much the legend about the San Andres de Teixido

Still I don't believe in reincarnations and second chances after life, or sometimes even in "this" life (the only one!)... I loved the life motto! Ahahah

Enjoy your vacations, Moço!

The way the environment is going today, in the whole world, we all need to move somewhere, so it will be better for our health, because when a person has problems, a person gets sick. All these places are looking very beautiful, seeing the natural place makes one's mind very relaxed.
