Battle Mage Secrets Weekly challenge... and a giveaway!

Another week, another challenge! Already started to incorporate some of the newer reward cards, and some appear to be pretty useful already, even at lower levels! It will take quite some time to gather enough glint to put them at the level I want... but that's part of the idea, right? Anyways, off to this week's prompt:

No summoner skills on this ruleset, so I normally go for the dragon summoner, since it broadens the amount of cards I have available to choose my strategy! I guess dual summoners are perfect for here too, but still don't have them at a decent level.

Stampede is an awesome ruleset, and makes for a lot of fun mayhem battles: if a unit has trample and kills a monster, it can continue trampling if it delivers a killing blow on the trampled card, instead of trampling just once, as usual. I've seen battles finishing in a couple of rounds as a strong unit simply tramples the entire opponent's team. Trouble is, there is a lot more trampling monsters in wild league than in modern one, so can't have fun that often, unless Possibilus is used, since it provides trample to the entire team.

I've tried to find a decent battle with that ruleset; and I did... but at the same time failed miserably:

No water of dragon splinters here, where most trampling units are. And since it was a kind of low mana match (23), there weren't that many possibilities to use a trample monster with high mana so, it was a trample battle without trampling!

One more ruleset here:

  • Tis but scratches - all cards have cripple ability.

If water was available, it would be my pick for sure, probably with Possibilus; here, decided to go with earth:

My strategy and lineup:

  • Obsidian as the summoner: extra magic power is always nice
  • Venari Knifer as tank: not a tank I normally use, but needed a low mana tank; thorns is a great skill to have here
  • Regal Peryton: very fast damage dealer, with extra magic buff from summoner
  • Venari Scout: strong opportunity card and decent attack and speed
  • Queen Mycelia: good support card, with triage, rust, and protect
  • Fungus Flinger: basically as cannon fodder in case of sneak attacks
  • Mycelic Morphoid: cannon fodder but with thorns, and armor thanks to Queen Mycelia

My opponent went for earth too, but with the sb summoner! Chaos agent in front, venator kinjo as offtank, and thane newsong for the buffs; then, katrelba, one of the best gladius cards for me! Finishing with venari scount and also fungus flinger to soak up sneak damage.

If katrelba managed to start buffing, I would be in real trouble. How did the battle went?

image.png

Thanks to Queen Mycelia and the armor and amplify buffs, as katrelba striked two times, the 2x thorns damage were enough to finish her off, eliminating the biggest threat from my opponent's team. My attackers were also able to kill the sneaky chaos agent on the first round.

image.png

Kinjo was no match for my team in tank position, and as thane took tank's place, my venari scout finished him off as well, leaving only 2 attackers to my four elements, with almost full health.

Victory seemed certain, and first strike in round 3 confirmed it, with regal finishing venari scout, leaving only a very squishy fungus flinger to clear!

You can check the entire battle here!

As I'll be going to a well deserved rest period, my next giveaway post will probably be only in a couple of weeks! More time for you to join; meanwhile, have fun on the battlefield!

Katrelba is so brutal but also so fragile. I need to level up my Regal Peryton. Whats your strategy with Glint chests? I have been only buying ultimate chests but not sure I am earning enough glint to even get through one round of those with the new prices this season.

I will try my luck in very few chests, with the upgrade in prices I don't think they are that great most of the time. Wasting 4500 glint on 1 chest to get a few potions is frustrating, so I guess I'll focus on cards and just a couple chests every eos.

So you are stacking glint? or buying the rarity draws instead of chests?
