Upstairs at the Bike Museum.

I forgot to show you what it looked like on the upstairs, mezzanine floor of the bike museum.

I have posted the ground floor of the museum a while ago, and here you will see some more oldies.

We are now sitting with 3 power cuts per day, and it seems at this stage that it will be the same over the weekend as well. Not really something to look forward to, but there is nothing that we can do about it. At least our inverter trolly has arrived back from the suppliers after the repairs, but we can only use it for one hour of a power cut, as then we have to turn the pc's off. But such is life, and I am not complaining, as we can only grin and bear it.
Come and have a look at the bikes upstairs.

This Mondial below was a hotshot racing bike long ago.

And who says that motorized bicycles are a recent invention?

Ice cream anyone, and at that price it will be sold out within the hour. Just imagine this, at the time of my youth, this is really what an ice cream cost us.

This was such a lovely picture, behind the old Shell pump, on my way out of the museum.

And finally the view across the road from the museum.

And there you have it, as I have kept my promise to post the upper floor, but I didn't say when. Lol.
There is so much more for us to discover over here, as the area is packed with surprises, but it takes time, and during a two and a half power cut, one cannot travel too much further afield. So we look around for gems in our own immediate area and the finds are plenty.

We had a lovely and friendly couple of hivers that visited us today and we took them on a tour to firstly show them some of what we do at Papillon, and then to another art venue, where we had arranged for the owner of the art school to meet with them. We believe that they were mightily impressed with what they saw and heard, and we all had a great time together. They promised more visits and we will see what the future holds for all of us.

I hope that you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Oh yes, it is a bike museum and many girls like bikes.
None of the bikes are for sale, but there are many to buy online.

Nice old bikes. I think ebikes may be helping get more people back on two wheels. It's better than more cars. Modern motorbikes tend not to be so cheap now.

Those power cuts sound annoying. Do many people have battery systems? We will have one soon with our solar panels, but it may still need the mains to be connected.

Thank yo and yes, we see some of the ebikes here on our roads. My wife even suggested that I should get one. Petrol has become very expensive, and an ebike could be good on the pocket.
Modern motorbikes are now at almost the same prices as budget cars.

Annoying is a good word for the power cuts, as it is debilitating. No, sadly not many have the battery systems, especially in the townships, but I saw somewhere that they are working on a cheap solar system for those that cannot afford the bigger systems.
Yes, it has to be connected to the mains, as we use the mains to recharge the trolly inverter lithium battery, after every power cut.

We tend to take stable power for granted, but it's not always there for a lot of people. I hope things improve for you.

Oh yes, so did we, but due to a lack of planning, maintenance, and especially corruption, it all folded since around 2007. Two new power stations were built costing billions, but they are still not fully operational, a real travesty.
Thank you for the wishes.

If it's in the post I must have missed it, but where is this?

Yeah the powercuts are really something to get use to right, especially if it's three times a day🫠🫠

If you look at my blog, the first post was 20 days ago, and a second post was 17 days ago. This one is my last post of the bikes. This museum is between Somerset West and the Sir Lowery's Pass Village.

We are now at 4 power cuts per day, and yes, it makes work very difficult.

Thank you and yes, history is one of my favorites. One can clearly see the stunning advances between the years gone by and the current situations.
Been sharing my posts for only 6 years now.
