Time for a bird post.

We are struggling with severe power cuts here, but that's no excuse, so come and have a look at some birds.

The terror of the skies was out hunting for a snack. It is a Harrier Hawk (Polyboroides typus).

It was a bit weird, as the same time that the harrier hawk flew into sight a flock of Egyptian geese were also coming over from a different angle. So I almost had to dance around with my camera to get shots of the hawk at the one side and the geese on the other side, as they flew across the mountain faces.
But I tried and at least that's what always counts.

Here below were the Egyptian geese coming over.

Lovely with a mountain peak in the background. Sadly the geese did not stay together in flight, which only made things a bit more difficult, as I also had to keep the hawk in my sight.

And here was the hawk again at a much greater height in the sky than the geese.

Now I wonder who of you can tell me what kind of birds these below are?

I will show you more of the birds in the photo above in another post.

My camera has a fixed lens mounted on a rail track that can extend and retract the zoom very fast. In the beginning when I bought the camera, is was so easy to over zoom resulting in blurred photos, or to under zoom making pin prick photos of birds that I targeted. But over time and with much practice, I finally seem to get things fairly right as you can see in this post. They say that practice makes perfect, and I am far from perfect, but at least you can see that the photos are not too bad, as they were all taken by me on the zoom.
On another note, such are things also in our life, as if a person doesn't stop banging away to try and be successful, then a person will get nowhere.
Try, try and try again until you finally reach your goal, as it always works out to reach the goals. So many today are very quick to give up and it is the breeding place of bitterness.
So the message is to keep on trying your best on hive and sooner or later you will succeed. Never just give up.

I hope that you have enjoyed the story and the photos.

And That's All Friends.

Saw a kestrel yesterday and the geese have been honking above but most intriguing is the red tail hawks have built a nest outside the condos here in city. Not often you see that, and maybe I'll get some pictures, but this densely populated?

Well I will be delighted if you can get some shots of the red tail hawks with their babies. Sounds like a real challenge methinks
What I would do in such a case is that I will search for a space where I could see the nest, maybe from the roof of one of the condos, as then things can get really exciting !LOL

Thank you kindly Jacky and I still have4 the habit of practicing every day. Especially with the quick shots. The first 2 years was the worst, but thankfully then things started to fall into place.

I hope that you guys will have a great Friday and a good weekend.

The birds of the last photo look like flamingos.
