This is how a mountain cap is formed.

A darkish and windy day and I had to hold onto my own cap to keep it from blowing away. But I sensed something was going to happen and come, let me show you what it was.

I saw the drifting clouds at the face of the mountain and decided to wait and watch for a while.

Like I always say, come wind, hail, or storm, we are out there during the power cuts, as it is no fun sitting at home. This might not look like a normal post, and it isn't, because a little bit later I watched a wonderful event. One can never know what to expect in nature over here, and it was just my instincts that kept me watching this show.

Amazing to see how this crow sat on only one foot, on that branch in the strong wind. The wind was whipping the branch around and the crow shouted angrily for the wind to stop :)

Here below you can see the rising cloudy whisps, but they were not the focus of what was going to happen next.

Here is an idea as the cloud started to come in from behind the mountain, and I could see that it had a plan.

Yay! It started to form a cap on the mountain.

A lovely sight isn't it?

So, we jumped into the car and drove around to a vineyard where I knew that I would also get a great sight of the cloudy cap on the mountain.

Like I said, one can never know what to expect, and I was really impressed by the way that that low cloud covered the mountain top. I have seen snatches of it before, but never in series like this. What it meant to me, is that we have two planes of cloud, the one up high and another scraping along the earth. So the mountain obviously formed a barrier for the lower cloud, and it started to creep over the mountain. However, it did not cover the mountain, and by the time that we left it was still sitting up there.
At least, now I know how the cloudy caps on the mountain are formed.
