There is a time for all things.

I selected a time to show you some lovely reflections.

Mother nature on show here again in all of her beauty.

We were at a dam on a wine farm and I took some pictures to show you today. A bit of a wind was up, but fortunately the strong thermals were high up, so I had to spend a bit of time during the soft winds, to wait in order to get suitable reflection. This particular dam has a lovely wooden bridge stretching over it, and it is delightful to see the life in the water. But I'll show you this in another post. As for now, I want to show you the dam mirroring the nature in the surrounds.
So come and have a look.

There you can see my wife at the left, walking over the bridge as there is seating on the other side.

In the meantime, I walked around the dam to try and get the reflection shots.

I included the two photos below to show you some autumn colors and also an art work. I took the two photos on another farm where we went for coffee on the same day.

Here we now continue with the reflections of the first dam.

At times, the sky would show some darker images due to the clouds, but they were also lovely as you can see.

That was the start of a sun halo as we left the farm.

Sadly, that sun halo could not fully develop due to the lack of cloud, but it was, nevertheless, a reminder that soon we will have some rain about. Nature has the uncanny ability to showcase her beauty and she uses the water as a mirror to do her makeup:)
Wonderful to try and get the reflections from all angles, as the beauty is all interchangeable telling us to take care of her.

On another note, there is a desperate struggle here in our country to keep the power on, due to years of neglect and corruption. I saw in the news this morning, that one of our neighboring countries, Botswana, also had a total blackout. Unfortunately, they have only one power station and if that packs up then there is a total blackout. We are also being continually threatened with the escalation in our hours of power cuts, and as the cold of winter will really start later this month, many are going to suffer.
Such is life here.

I hope that you have enjoyed the story and the pictures.

And That's all Friends.

For all the beauty our country offers, in this moment a heart is cold as that halo sky above.

Many will perish without a means to an end, escalating power outages, poverty worsened by lockdowns, stupid draconian laws implemented, theft of the peoples right to life on the land, now in the hands of a few.

Photography in the beauty of the Cape always brings feeling of tranquility and calm, how true the saying "Stille waters, diepe grond. Daar onder draai die duiwel rond." - literal translation, "Still waters run deep, and that is where the devil roams."

Sometimes during these shots balance between highlights and shadows is really important otherwise some details may be clipped either being too dark or too bright. You did a really great job by balancing each of them.
