The supreme beauty of nature.

(Edited)

First off, a Happy Friday to all and today I will show you what this tree hides.
245.JPG

So come and let's see what is behind this tree.

We certainly live in a beautiful area and there is always so much to see. The nights might be difficult with all of the power cuts, but the beauty in the days makes up for it. I am not saying that the power cuts during the days are not difficult, as the economy suffers, but that's a story for another day. Right now let's concentrate on the beauty that Mother nature bestows upon us all for free.
So come and feast your eyes and your soul.

This below is what it looked like when we arrived. That old tree stands like a sentinel, jealously guarding its terrain.
243.JPG

So I stepped our from the car and here I was under the tree.
238.JPG

Stunning views behind the tree.
266.JPG

210.JPG

A look at the mountain towards the left of the tree and watch that cloud at the top.
195.JPG

264.JPG

Ever so slowly that top cloud tumbled down and started to caress the top of my tree.
269.JPG

Finally here's a full view of that mountain and the sun was trying to draw a curtain over it.
336.JPG

Early days and an early post to try and dodge the power cuts, but my heart is always happy to see the gifts from Mother nature, as they do indeed lighten my mood. There are always opportunities to be found in the dark problems that assail our lives, and my opportunity during the problem of the power cuts is get out there and to drink the nectar of nature's views into my mind.
So here we go now to get more pictures that I will post after the power cut and I hope that you have enjoyed the post.

And That's All Friends.

Thank you and I think that you have been "right there" for many moments.

You're here??? So am I 😁

Wow. I won't ask if you're concerned about privacy but what a place you're in! Gorgeous...

Also in the Cape province? We are about 40km away from the city.
Thank you.

Yes!

I'm in the Deep South for now but a move is on the cards...

Looks gorgeous where you are (?)

I'm headed a bit out of the city as well I reckon. It's too expensive around here and the stress levels are palpable now

Good that you are thinking about getting out. I will never live in a city again.

Now here's a tease for you. We live in town that is close to the Hottentot-Holland mountains. A bay that is backed by the mountains and fronted by the ocean. Where is this?

Traffic jams, noise and a crazy fast life where one has to keep a constant look out for criminals is a life that I greeted 4 years ago and we !LUV it here.

Funny... I'm literally looking at a cottage on a small holding next door to you. :)

Today. For real. That or Riebeek Kasteel... which is arty and off beat.

But your area is beautiful and near one of my favourite places. We may be neighbours in the nearish future. But no car here and smallholdings and travel so... step by step.

Nicely done! I wish I had left before but wasn't ready.

Yeah, we had a look at Riebeek Kasteel, but I found the mountains and the sea plus the abundance of nature drawing me here like a magnet. plus of course there are all the farms and the wine estates around here. Not that we drink, but some of them have great restaurants out n the open where we often sit for coffee.

Near one of your favourite places? No car?

I think that everything in life happens in the correct timing as we were also not ready to move down here. But we were persuaded to come by a good friend that owned an apple farm, who has sadly since died.

I'm sorry to hear of your friend.

Yes. We do have all of everything scenery wise in the WC. It's something else, huh?

I recognized the mountains when I looked at some of your past posts :)

And yes... it's been years in the making but it's time...

Perhaps I'll hit you guys up for a coffee meet when I'm out there

That's the way of life and one has to accept it.

Oh yeah, the WC has many places that I still want to explore, but let me tell you that there are many other places on the continent that is just as beautiful. My favorite is Chobe in Botswana and Namibia's Sossusvlei is also out of this world.

Yep, easy for a capie to spot :)

So true as there is a set time for everything and one just has to go with the flow.

Good idea and wish you only the best with your pending move.

True. All of it.

And yeah. I will!

Perhaps one day I'll get to see Botswana and Namibia too :)

Good pictures to see the mystery of a tree and the beauty of its surroundings. For those who know how to look and see, there is a lot of natural beauty around us.

Many mysteries waiting in nature to reveal themselves to those "who know how to look and see".
It is that same beauty that lays at rest inside each of us and if only we will all start to show it, but sadly this hurried and harassed world does not teach that.

I like this tree - it hides this awesome mountain, so that I can have it for me alone because no one else knows that it is there 😀

Good evening Hannes,

I am just out of the latest power cut and things are crazy over here.

Yes, that tree is a jealous guard that I plead with every time to allow me to take some photos 😉

Cheers and thanks.

Good morning Zac,

I don't know what the future brings, but no power would be one of the worst things, I believe. If ever we should have a power cut I will have to learn from you 😁

Some beauty is not meant to be seen by everyone and the tree knows you belong to the good people who are allowed to see all beauty that Mother Nature has to offer 😊

Good evening Hannes,

No power is not the worst of it my friend, the worst of it is to feel so powerless. So maybe I should start a an advice agency for powerless people including hopeless people 😁 !LOLZ

Hahaha, I think that the tree is tired of my pleading with it to get the beauty that's behind it 😉

Cheers and thanks.

Good afternoon Zac,

I know what you mean by "powerless" and I would also use the word "helpless" because there's basically nothing you can do, except prepare your home before they shut the power off.

I thought you already have this agency for hopeless people because you're helping so many of them 😊

Hi Hannes, the thing is that it is very expensive to prepare the house and I don't like to make cheap attempts, as cheap is always expensive later. So I have to do what I can afford and that's not much.

Yes, Papillon helps people, but it is focused on poor people and we cannot help rich helpless people, as then there will not be enough for the poor. So we are all helpless together 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

You're very right, Zac, buying cheap means buying expensive later, that's so true and I could tell you quite some examples from my life 😎 !LOLZ

Yep, I know and I meant the helpless poor people, of course 😉

I learned that from my mom, as she was a wise woman and saved up until she had enough to buy an expensive item. She could get a cheaper one at more than half the price, but she never did.
So you know what I am talking about as you have experienced it for yourself 🤣 !LOLZ

I know that you know what I know about what you know 😁

Cheers and thanks.

I never understood why people bought the more expensive things and I have never been someone who could save the money for something - I just couldn't wait until I got the thing I thought I urgently needed.

I haven't changed much because I am sure I will buy my van soon. It will probably be a few years older than I wanted to buy, but the prices for used cars have increased in the past 2 years about 50%, I believe.

I know that you know that I know that you know 🤣 !LOLZ

They call that impulse buying and the shops encourage that as then they have more sales and more profits. Can you believe that it took my mom 2 years of saving so that she could buy a lounge suite for our house in cash.

And in a few years that van will be 150% more expensive to buy. Shocking how the prices shot up as here used cars are starting ti cost more than new cars.

Ha! So you got me back. Well done 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

Yes, I believe you and I wished I was that patient, but you know that I am not 🤣 !LOLZ

I bought my VW Golf, that my son is using, two years ago when it was two years old. Today I could sell it for the same amount if not for more. A 10 years old VW Caddy costs the same amount that I have paid for the 2 years old Golf ... that's so weird, but I think you are right and the prices will even raise.

Oh yeah, your generation started the rot of impatience and today we sit with youngsters that want things instantly 🤣 !LOLZ

As long as the 1o years old Caddy has a low mileage, but I very much doubt it.

Amazing what's going on in the car sales world. We bought the VW Polo Maxx in 2015 and it now has 69000 km on the clock. So we went to motor dealer to see if we could get a good trade in for a small new Jeep like car called a Jimney over here. They wanted to give me 10% for the VW of the new car's sales price. Madness methinks.

Cheers and thanks.

You're very right, my friend, your generation has learned to live in patience 😀

These vans have a mileage of 100,000 and above.

The car dealers have always been robbers, but in the past two years they have changed to the worse.

What can i say Hannes, patience and respect was very alive in my early days, but I have seen it being eroded gradually over the decades 😪

Oh yes, and the bad thing is that you don't know if the previous owner has hammered the van. First thing that I as is why did the owner sell it? Second thing is does the vehicle have an up to date services book.
The thing is that salesmen have many tricks and invariably they will say that the car belonged to an old lady that died. Or they will say that it belonged to a woman and she had another baby apart form her other 4 children and she sold it to get a bigger car 😎
In the meantime it belonged to some reckless guy that hammered the life out of it.

Yep, I don't think that a car salesman can ever have a peaceful night's sleep, as they will always be worried that some unhappy customer will come after them 😁

Cheers and thanks.

I agree, my friend, and when we speak with the older colleagues they say the same - working with people isn't the same as it was only 20 years ago.

I think the salesmen sleep better than their customers 🤣 !LOLZ

Here we have warranty laws and the car dealer has to guarantee that a used car is fine, even if they don't know about a problem that a car might have. Years ago, I have had a problem with a used car and they fixed it. But you are right, you don't know who the former owner of the car was and how he has handled it, and you don't know what might break that's not included in the warranty.

Scary isn't it and when I see the way that the kids carry on here then I can only worry about the future as it looks very bleak 😎

Salesmen are money driven and they will always devise new sales techniques to catch the clients.
Poor clients is all that I can say 🤣 !LOLZ

One thing that we have learned at our cost is that there is a difference between a warranty and a guaranty. I bought a new Nissan car and in the second week the car's 2nd gear refused to work.
So I took the car back to the dealership and they told me that the car's guarantee was on the motor and not on the gearbox. The gearbox was under warranty and they said that means that I have to bring the car in so that they can repair the gearbox.

Long story short is that I said if they repair the car then it is not new anymore and that would mean that I bought a used car. So I threatened them with legal action and they replaced the car with the VW that we have now.

Cheers and thanks.

Yeah, we have been talking about the kids and respect before, and I agree, the future is looking bad.

They have to sell to feed their family, so I somehow can understand them ... no, I don't 🤣 !LOLZ

I haven't had such problems before, and I'm not sure that I would go that far to threaten them because I would have let them repair it - it's a used car anyway when I drive it home from the dealership. But you got my fully respect, my friend 👉👍

Ethics my friend, should they care for their clients then it will be okay, but I think that that they are all forced to chase profits. So at times truth can become a stranger to them 🤣 !LOLZ

Nope, I paid for a new car my friend. Had they supplied me with a new car and it was good, then I wouldn't have had any problems. But a car with a malfunctioning gearbox could only spell more trouble ahead, even if they fixed it.
So I presume that they fixed it and sold it to some other person as a new car.
You know what I will say here 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

The car dealer told me that these days they would sell my car for about 50% more than I have paid 2 years ago. That's weird 🙄 !LOLZ

Well that's great news for you, but I don't think you you should sell your car, as you will need it as a back-up in case the van has troubles, or when it is in for services 😉
