The storm has landed.

Things did not look too good weatherwise when I took this photo on our way to the beach.

I believe that there is nothing better than the sea to show an incoming storm.

Wet? Oh yeah, but I know how to stand under the canopy of a beach coffee shop in order to take photos of the ghost riders on the waves. The weatherman reckons that it will rain for the next 3 days, and I think that he is right this time as I type this the water is cascading in dense sheets of rain. Glory be I say, as we need the water and I just hope that it will also rain in the areas that are suffering with debilitating droughts.

At high tide, the low wall of the kiddies pool will disappear under the water. Sadly we couldn't wait for the high tide, as it was a few hours away and then it will be dark with much rain pouring down.

A warning was issued that at high tide these waves below will be bigger, between 5 and 6 meters high.

Now and then the wind would subside and then the birds will try to feed.

But then again the wind will howl and the water would come alive.

Finally this was what the road looked like on our way back.

I stood on the edge of the promenade for a while and was instantly wet, but the wind was the bother as it tried to blow me off my feet. One day we will rent a beachfront room for me to take some photos during a storm at high tide. But I could never live right at the beachfront, as the wind is ten times stronger than at our place 6 kilometers inland.
So it was an exciting time down there and I love to watch the power of nature.

I hope that you have/had a lovely Sunday and that you enjoyed the pictures here.

As the storm approaches, it is the best time for seagulls to forage for food. The little fish will rise to the surface and it's party time for the birds. But, not for the fishermen, it was the most avoided moment. I often go fishing and encounter storms a lot, it really makes me cringe when I face nature when it's not friendly.

Btw, your photos are amazing and you got them under difficult conditions.
You are very brave to be there and be careful. Nature isn't completely predictable, right?

Thank you and I also fished for many years until I changed to photography. So I know the land and the sea fairly well, but one can never know it all, as there are always the unexpected that can happen.
I have been out in worse than this, so it really was not a major issue.

So thank you for the kind warning and you also take care.

Oh yes, I so hope that it will also blow to your shores Lady Joan. Maybe, it will, so let's hope that it does.

The fun is when a gull grabs a bigger fish and the other gulls see it. Like a rugby game at sea as you can see in that one photo where the gulls are gathering to chase the ball carrier !LOLZ

Hope that you guys will have a blessed week.

Gulls are argumentative over food, have not seen an aerial hi-jacking in some time always good fun who can out fly the next.

Lovely picture stories once again in nature.

Hahaha, I also love to watch the gettaway and the gulls have become specialists to dodge the others when one strikes a luck.

Glad that you like the stories !!LOLZ
