The African sun was merciless today.

It was a windless day, and at 32C shade was essential. Also a video in here.

Even a Grey Heron sat high up in a tree, panting in the heat.

We are now approaching the last throes of the summer season, and it was a very hot one. We are just glad that we don't live higher inland in the country as they are touching on the early 40Cs. Great news is that after another two days, they reckon that our weather temperature will drop lower down into the 20Cs. About time, as it is preparing for Autumn, and Fall is a season that we really love. We call it the season of colors.

I wonder if you can see the heron sitting near the top of a dead tree?

Looked like a very friendly chap, but it wasn't really smiling as it was gulping and sucking air into its lungs.

Anyone for some tea?

Now I will show you how intelligent the Egret birds are.

They were waiting at a water sprayer, as they know that as soon as it switches on, then worms and insects become easy to catch.

You can see that some water started to come out of the pipe.

Sprayers switched on and not one egret could be seen, as they were all down searching for worms to appear.

And finally, Marian loaded one of my videos for me, to show you some chicken hanky panky.

Apologies for some blurring in the video, as I had to move very fast to catch the action. You will see in the video how the rooster pulls at a worm, and he made a noise to call his wife to come and eat the worm. In any case, I told you that it was hot, and we sat in the shade of a big, old oak tree. I also have some other photos that I took here and will share it in some other posts.

Things are hectic lately, and everyone is in a rush, but many things get sidelined. For instance, we are planning a new pilot project, and it is tough going as we have been battling with the red tape to start the pilot since January of this year. We are now into March, and finally a deputy director of health made an appointment to come and see us. Hive will also play a role in the pilot project, and as soon as all of the permissions have been cleared, I will do a post about it.
Until then, Adios.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Those Egrets looks very very smart. I use to watch a couple of them when I walk along te side of the river close to my home, those ones seems to be very shy and they use to fly away if I try to take some pics of them. 🙂

Oh yes, I was amazed to see how they timed the water sprayers. Egrets are not fond of people, and that's why they fly away. !LOL

I could get in trouble for stealing from the kitchen supply store
But that’s a whisk I’m willing to take.
