The adventure continues.
I stated that I would show more of the wine estate with the runner ducks.
And that is what I am now doing here, as I will show you our arrival at the place.
Of course, we were the first to arrive at the estate in the early morning and we were welcomed with open arms. This is the same day that we saw the runner ducks in my previous post.
It is magical to be outside on a farm at the early start of the day and the restaurant staff were busy setting everything up before the visitors arrived. So by the time that the first people arrived, we were already a part of the furniture :)
Come and see.
You can see and read more about the restaurant HERE
Did I tell you that we arrived very early? The sky was still grey.
This cutie explained the layout of the place and I had already gained permission to take photos.
Behind her some staff were scurrying around to set up the kitchen. The nice thing here is that the preparation, cooking and frying of the food is done in full view of anyone that cares to take a look.
We elected to sit at the far table at the right hand side of the photo.
This is a section where a family or a group can do their own grilling of their meat on the center griller.
Talking about a griller, how is this pre-historic contraption?
It was situated outside next to the kitchen.
What? A guy came along to build a fire in it.
And then a baker appeared with some dough to make the roosterkoek (grid-cakes) for the morning breakfast in the oven.
Now what is Roosterkoek? Please Google "roosterkoek, South Africa" to discover the secret of a most delicious invention. Especially for those that love to barbeque.
Let's have a look at the inside of the restaurant.
The restaurant is called "Geuwels" and the building is divided into 3 parts. First for diners that want to eat indoors. Then the kitchen and the third part is dedicated to serve the beverages.
I will show you each section below.
This is the first part and as you enter, this lovely sight greets you.
The dry flower arrangement under the ring light caught my eye.
Then we go through the kitchen which is the second part.
And finally the third part of the restaurant.
Again one gets greeted by a lovely cut flower arrangement.
Full tanks of the different wines behind the glass doors and I suspect that one can really get tanked up at a lovely place like this :)
And there is even a cappuccino coffee machine on the go.
This relic is an old bottle filling machine.
By now the skies had started to color.
And later the runner ducks also appeared for their quick rest before going off to work in the vineyards.
A bit of a long post. I was about midway in this post and unexpectedly our PC'S and the lights were switched off. So I had to wait 4 hours for the power to come back on. A few times now that we have had these sudden escalations in the power cuts and it is simply maddening. Sooner or later the PC's will decide that they have had enough and pack up. Then we will be in dire straits. But today I will make a plan to install a power pack that will cure this situation.
Now to get back to this post, I have now posted the first restaurant on the runner duck wine estate and I will follow it with the second restaurant, which is a more formal dining experience. Thereafter I will post the coup de grace that is the wine tasting section in the main house. You are going to love it.
Enough chatter now and I hope that you enjoyed the story and the pictures.
And That's All Friends.

I love this place. There are a lot of things to see here but inside and outside and they try as much as possible to help us connect with nature, food, and tranquility. Thanks for sharing, sir.
Thank you and yes, they stick very tightly to the eco-system restoration rules. No pesticides!
So they blend the wine estate in with nature.
My pleasure to share my passions.
