Squirrels, rain, sun, and flowers this morning.

The sun was struggling with the rain clouds and the squirrels were hungry.

I waited for the sun and the expected knock on our study window told me somebody wanted nuts.

We are all struggling with the weather nowadays and there are also many other struggles across this globe that we call earth. The Ukraine situation also seems to deteriorate by the day and solutions for peace remain distant. We have a big wild fire in a town here and they are struggling to douse the fire. Just two examples of the battles and I don't even want to mention the Hive prices.
But life goes on.

So yes, of course I fed the pleading squirrel some nuts.

The succulents were wet, but every time that the sun popped out I took some photos of them.

Here below you can see that all of the squirrels now have their winter coats on. Lovely colored fur coats.

A wet dove was also around to pick up the pieces of the nuts that the squirrels dropped.

Finally here is a shot of a wet Periwinkle flower.

We are to have rain until Saturday and the power cuts continue, so it's a bit of a stressful time, but as usual we will manage to cope.
In the meantime I will simply continue to search for the beauties that surround us, as it keeps me in a happy mood.
Life is certainly not easy at times but I know that we can cope with whatever it throws at us. It is only a matter of overcoming and over the years at Papillon we have learned many tricks about how to manage dire situations. Charity work is not easy or for the fainthearted, but there are always great results that one can look forward to.
Such is life.

The squirrel is so cute, Zac, and the rainy plants lovely too, but the Periwinkle flower is my absolute favourite today 🤩

When I read or watch the news, what I seldom do these days, I realize that all my problems are not even worth mentioning.

Tannin in tea helps one's body to match with the temperatures methinks 🤣 !LOLZ

The area of Umdloti was the worst hit by the mudslides this time and the photos are unbelievable.
Thank you and we are still waiting for our first real winter storm, as today we had a day of fairy rain again.

Joan has told me that it has hit the area where she's living quite hard again. Such immense floodings and damages each year are so strange, so not understandable to me.

Lucky for Joan she doesn't live in Umdloti as it was hit the hardest. A mudslide smashed into a big
residential building and one section collapsed taking with it many flats.
Thankfully the residents were evacuated before it happened.

We certainly hope the same as it is so tiring to see all of the bad things every day.
Whenever we take a coffee break in the day I read 2 newspapers (habit) and it is so disheartening to see all of the dark deeds out there.

Newspapers was all that I could read, as there were no computers in my younger years. Also only landline phones and no mobiles with pictures and news.
So it's an old habit with me and it reminds me of a different world that I lived in long ago 😉

I read the newspaper on Sundays while I have lunch, but most times I don't read the first few pages. I remember the days when we haven't had a TV nor an own telephone.

Nope, my eyes don't close when I read the newspaper because I read while I'm eating and my face might land in the meal, but as soon as I have finished eating I stop reading 😂 !LOLZ

The news everywhere is so overwhelming these days. That it is a relief in some way, seeing the wonders we have close to us. I hope the power cuts are not too extensive. And that everything gets better soon. Cheers!😄

Power cuts we are used to my friend as it's been carrying on for years now. The bad news is that things are getting worse, but we will simply have to endure my friend.
I pity the people in the poor areas where we work with Papillon, but life goes on.

Hahaha, thanks and yes they are really a handful. I wish that we can live like them, as then the world will be a better place.

Thank you and yes, animals are intelligent and all 7 of them here in our garden trust me.
This morning we had a Harrier Hawk here in a tree watching a squirrel and the squirrels saw me chasing the hawk away. That's why they trust me.

I will show you the hawk in a post tomorrow.

5 years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us.
