Spring season heralds in new growth.

You will see granadillas, birds and a big lemon in here.

Last spring season, I also did a post about the granadillas, and this is a fresh new crop.

The great news is that granadillas have many health benefits, as they are loaded with vitamins, and pectin. Good for the heart, blood, and stomach. So soon we will do the granadilla shakes again:))
There are many species of granadillas across the world. They originate from South America, and our granadillas here in South Africa are from Brazil. Brazil has this delicious mousse made with the juice from them which is very tasty, and my wife made some for us last season. Some granadillas have yellow skins when they ripen, and they are called Passion Fruits. Ours have green skins that turns purple when they ripen.
Do yourself a favor and Google the health benefits of Granadillas.

See how the granadilla nibs slowly turn into flowers.

And then the flowers turn into granadillas.

Difficult to get the small birds in the dense growth of the granadilla bush.

But this sunbird couldn't escape my camera. The amazing thing is, that they take nectar from behind the flower and not at the front.

Just to show you our granadilla fence.

And now for something else.

Look at the big size of this lemon.
Sadly, I had to cut its branch off as the leaves on the branch were infected by sooty black mold aphids. Once those pests take over on a tree, the fruit will be damaged, and the tree can even die. So, we carefully inspected the tree leaves, and I cut the branches off that were infected.

Just to show you the lemon's size, the yellow one at the front is what they sell at the shops.

And here below is an even bigger one that is still growing on our lemon tree, with no infections. And there are a few more lemons on the tree.

Spring is a wondrous time of new life and beauty. From the buds and flowers to the bees and birds enjoying the new growth, we so enjoy the abundance of sights. The mountains even seem to grin with joy at the new warmth of the sun. The clouds look relaxed and peaceful and the skies shimmer in beautiful blue hues. Bright colors are everywhere, and one feels the winter dropping off one's skin. The great outdoors beckons to our souls to come and relieve the tensions and stresses, resulting from the past winter storms. A place to meditate in joy and gratitude for being alive for another season.
Such is the magic of spring.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and story.

Lemon, both of these are beneficial and the picture you have taken of the bird also looks very beautiful. The bird in the leaves has enhanced the beauty of the bird. You have done very good photography.

What's the difference between a cat and a frog?
A cat has nine lives, but a frogs croaks every night.

Granadilla and lemon are two delicious fruits when made into juice. The little bird realized that someone was peeking at him with a camera and he hurriedly tried to appear more attractive.

Yes, we pulp 4 chilies and four garlic houses into a paste, with a bit of ginger. Then we put it into a bottle and fill the bottle with mixed granadilla and lemon juice. We use it as dip for chicken and try it, as the taste will blow your mind !LOL

Wow, this is interesting, I didn't know before that these two fruits could be made into sauce. Looks like I'll have to try making one.

That's just the way that we make it, but take care, as it is hot (burning).
Maybe don't add the chillies and don't give the sauce to children.
